William Charles “Bill” Midkiff of Chandler, Arizona passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2025 at 86 years old. Born on June 20, 1939 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bill was the son of Walter Louis and Myrtle Eva Mae Midkiff. He grew up surrounded by a large family with three brothers, Raymond, Richard, and Roy, and two sisters, Carol and Louise.
After graduating high school in Sebastopol, California, he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served from 1958 to 1963. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to public service, working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1966 until his retirement in 1998 as a telecommunications manager. His commitment to integrity and duty defined his professional life and left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.
In Springfield, Illinois, he met the love of his life, Ruth Ann Murphy, and on July 7th, 1966 they married. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Ann and Lori, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Bill will be remembered for his strength, his unwavering dedication to family, and his deep sense of responsibility. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann, daughters, Ann, Lori, and son in law Anthony, his grandsons Joey and Nick, his brother, Roy, and many beloved nieces and nephews. His memory will be honored by all who knew him.
His visitation will be on December 19, 2025 at 8:00 am at Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery/Funeral Home and memorial service at 9:00 am with private burial to follow.



Bill was a good man. I did his plumbing for over 20 years. Bill and Ruth where more like friends then customers. We had many long conversations when ever I was over the house. MU condolences and prayers.
