Romy Valdez Buenaventura, 77, of Marikina City, Philippines, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026.
Born on June 16, 1948, in Baguio City, Romy lived a life defined by hard work, humility, and deep devotion to his family. He was a loving and faithful husband, and a proud father to Alvin, Allan, Aileen, Romeo, Anna, and Amy. He was also a cherished stepfather to Kristine. His greatest joy was being “Lolo” to Isabel, Ian, Ben, Evelyn, Jessica, Josiah, Emmanuel, Samuel, Julyssa, Amaya, Oliver, Jaden, Junior, Shady, and Devin. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Romy was a hardworking and dedicated man who made many sacrifices for his family. He spent several years working in Saudi Arabia, faithfully providing for his loved ones from afar. Later, he continued his commitment to his family as an auditor at a local warehouse in Phoenix, Arizona. Through every season of life, his steady determination and sense of responsibility never wavered.
Though he never sought recognition or the spotlight, Romy’s quiet strength spoke volumes. He was a man of kindness, integrity, and unwavering love. As a father and grandfather, he led by example—through perseverance, humility, and steadfast support. The lessons he taught and the values he instilled will continue to guide his family for generations.
Romy is survived by his children, stepdaughter, grandchildren, siblings, and many friends and extended family members who will miss him deeply. While our hearts mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the memories we will carry with us always.
A viewing and funeral service will be held on February 20, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a reception dinner at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297.
He will be forever loved, remembered, and deeply missed.

My condolences to Romy’s family and friends. Romy was loved and cared for by many. His family was everything to him and Romy was everything to his family. The amount of life he had was enlightening.
