08/10/1942 - 07/01/2021

Robert H. Stumpe was born in August 10, 1942 in Alton, IL. After graduating East Alton High School, he joined the Navy where he was stationed in Taiwan. Upon his return home, he began working at UPS, where he eventually became a District Manager. He married Joan and had his daughter, Tracy.

In 1987, he moved to Arizona to enjoy his retirement. Retirement for Bob just meant finding other ways to keep busy. He owned and ran his own liquor store in Scottsdale. After selling the liquor store, Bob focused on volunteering with the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign War. He was their go-to volunteer cook and could be found frying fish every Friday night. During his days, he cared for his two grandchildren. With his grandchildren grown up, Bob continued to volunteer and be an active member of the American Legion.

Bob passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021 in Chandler, AZ. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy; grandchildren Kaileigh and Nathan; and great-granddaughter Eleanor.

Condolences

  • This is such a nice tribute. He will be missed, He was quite the Man.

  • I’m so sorry for your loss. He surely will be missed.

  • Bob was generous of his time and friendship. The hours he donated to the VFW, DAV and American Legion ran into the thousands. He was a friend to many…didn’t suffer fools easily…and lived life to the fullest.
    He will be missed.
