Raymond “Ray” Perez Carranza, a deeply loved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed peacefully on March 15, 2026, at the age of 52, surrounded by the love, prayers, and presence of his family and close friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 5, 1973 in Oxnard, California, Ray was the eldest son of Reynaldo and Amelia Carranza. He was raised in Yuma, Arizona, where he formed the strong values and character that would guide him throughout his life. He went on to graduate from Arizona State University and built a respected career as a civil engineer that spanned nearly 30 years, touching many lives through his work and dedication.
Above all, Ray’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Christina, and was a devoted and loving father to Camilla, Ariana, and Cayden. He found happiness in the simple, meaningful moments—family gatherings, hiking together, or enjoying a game of pickleball. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him.
Ray will be remembered for his positive spirit and remarkable strength in the face of adversity. Even during his illness, he remained hopeful and resilient. He lived a life marked by love, generosity, and selflessness, always putting his family first and inspiring everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Christina, and their three children, Camilla, Ariana, and Cayden; his mother, Amelia, and his brother Ron. He is now reunited in eternal peace with his father, Reynaldo.
To celebrate his life, a viewing will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm, with a service immediately following at Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home in Gilbert, AZ.

I will always remember the unwavering dedication you showed as the best man at my wedding. As I stood at the altar, overwhelmed with nerves and anxious thoughts, your steady presence grounded me. You carried a quiet strength that brought me peace in that moment, and it meant more to me than I could ever fully express.
That’s who you were—reliable, selfless, and deeply present for the people you loved. I will carry that memory, and your spirit, with me always.
To The Family,
Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4″And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever. My deepest sympathy to you all for your great loss of Ray…your son, brother, husband and father. Ray was a very kind and gentle soul. I very much enjoyed working with Ray during our time at Parsons Brinckerhoff many years ago, and more recently on a project in between 2022 and 2024. Ray truly was an honorable man that won’t go unforgotten.
