HUGS FROM HOME

As you may know, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic funeral services must be limited to 10 people or fewer. This is obviously disappointing to the families we are serving as well as those who wished to attend the services had they been able. As a result, we have developed a program called “Hugs From Home” that will allow the family to feel your love at this difficult time. Here is how you can share your love for the family and show your support as if you had been in attendance:

1. Leave a message in the “Add Condolence” section at the bottom of this page.
2. Our staff will print that message on a “Hugs From Home” card.
3. The card will be tied to an individual balloon and affixed to a chair where the service
is taking place thus representing your attendance at the service.
4. The family will then collect and read the cards and feel of your love and support for
them at this difficult time.

We hope you will take the time to participate so the family can feel of your love under
these unique circumstances.”

Our beloved Pedro Angel Escobedo, passed away on April 7th, 2020 peacefully in his home with his family, surrounded by love after a battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his loving wife Lila Escobedo, daughter Sirenna Escobedo, sons Pedro Jr. and Adrian “ACE” Escobedo, grandchildren Hunter Gonzalez and Everly Escobedo, mother Juanita Irene Escobedo, siblings Cindy, Rich and Marc Escobedo, Godchildren Jeannie Rodriguez and Johnny Escobedo, also many other uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Pedro, Sr. and his brother Steve Escobedo.

Pedro was Born October 30th, 1964 in East Chicago, Indiana. At the age of 18, he followed his dream of being an architect. A very talented artist, a skill passed down from his father, Pedro passes his love for art down to his Godson Johnny and niece Liliana. Pedro was an adventurous spirit and wasn’t afraid to try something new. He was wise beyond his years and overcame many obstacles in his life. He was always willing to pass on these life lessons and wisdom to his family and friends. Pedro always had his family’s best interest at heart and made it his mission to help, support and encourage others in his life. He created long lasting relationships and magical memories with everyone in his life. These beautiful moments of our lives can never be lost, for they live in our hearts and are relieved in our memories.

  • I had the privilege to work with and know Pete for 16 years. Eight of those years working side by side with him. We had many great conversations over those years, family, life, challenges we both experienced. Pete was always willing to listen and never judged. Since moving on and working in other parts of the business. I still would go visit Pete at his desk. He was a familer face and always brought comfort in my day when I seen him. The one thing I always admired about Pete was the love for his wife and family. His love for his children would always show when he would smile while talking about them. I’m deeply sadden with Petes passing and he will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to Lila, his children and grandchildren.

Condolences to his family great man he was

  • I knew Pete on a professional level at work. I can honestly say he always had a smile on his face which always brightened my day. He would always make time for me and had a sincerity and empathy behind all his words. Even passing by in the parking lot after a long day he would still hold a five-minute conversation about cars as I tend to ramble. Pete has left a profound impact on me, fortifying my belief that there are great people in the world and that we should all strive to make the world a better place.

  • Rosie, Ry and I want to share our deep condolence to all of you. I can say I don’t think I will ever meet anyone else like my friend Pete. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. May he RIP.

  • To Pete’s family

My condolences to family and loved one’s, he was a great man.

Now Pete still is reminding me how precious life is and that tomorrow is not guaranteed – to cherish it while we have it.

Rest In Peace my friend .

I am so sorry to hear of Pete’s passing. The World is a darker place for having lost his light. Pete had a magic in that no matter how busy he was he could always ‘make time’ to help out. • Dear Pete’s Family,
I send you my deepest condolences and I was very saddened to hear about Pete’s passing. I pray he passed knowing how loved, respected and admired he was and still is by all and that he is at peace. I was unaware of his condition. He was so hard working and always remained positive. I was fortunate to meet him when he traveled and spent months in San Jose. Although I worked with him briefly compared to others, it did not take long to see that he was an amazing person with an incredibly kind, big heart. He leaves a remarkable impression on everyone. He is dearly missed and my heart goes out to you all. May God bring you comfort and instill peace and hope in your heart for better days and that love is still felt in your hardest days.

  • Sibylle and Phil Gonzales

Dear Lila, Sirenna, Pete, Ace, and Family

Phil and I want to extend our condolences and want to say how grateful we are to have known Pete even though it was just for a little while.

We sure remember how he enjoyed playing corn hole during his visits to our house, how proud he was of his children, the gleam in his when he spoke of you Lila, and the love he had for his grandchildren was unmatched. He was a man of many talents but what stood out was his talent as an artist. The Avenger wall decorations he made for Hunter were above and beyond what one could buy in a store and not to mention the Truck display and Cars display he made for Hunter’s birthday parties were one of a kind. Pete was a kind and gentle spirit and we are so glad to have spent some time with him because those memories we made during those time will live forever in our hearts.

May this poem provide some a glimmer of hope and comfort in your time of sadness and sorrow.

Gone too soon but not forgotten:

Don’t think of him as gone his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets- this earth is only one. . .

Just think that he is wishing that you could know today
how nothing but your sadness can really pass away.

And think of him as living in all your memories
and all the hearts he touched. . .

for no one loved is ever lost-and he was loved so much.

    Forever in our hearts,
    Phil and Sibylle

His caring heart and strong soul showed everyone who met Pete how deeply he loved his family and friends. He was taken from us too soon and will be missed forever. We love you Pete.

Rest in peace to a dear friend who turned into family <3 Our inside jokes always brought so much joy and laughter, I will miss your smile forever. Thank you for sharing your genuine soul and kindness with the world. It is comforting to know you are at rest with Christ Jesus and that you are watching over everyone who you ever came into contact with- because of your everlasting and sincere compassion.

I feel so blessed to have shared many good times with Pete & Lila and family when I moved to Arizona. They become my family and made me feel so welcomed! Pete was a great guy who would do anything and everything for his family and friends. He was the person you can always count on. To the Escobedo family, please know that we share in your grief and I pray to God 🧎🏽‍♀️ to give you strength to deal with the loss and I know my friend is resting with no pain and in peace. You may be gone but, never forgotten❤️

  • We all love you pops and miss you rest easy dont worry will all take care of mom and family

We both were with Pete basically our whole school life. Such a cool, quiet presence of an artistic soul. I remember back in grade school how the way he drew flames was cooler and different than everyone else’s. His wasnt the common curvy, licking flames. His were more like jagged edged mountain tops. Chris Pluskis remembers a tremendous drawing of an eagle Pete created. I also remember playing football in the front yard lot on the corner of his house when we were young teenagers. Soar with the angels our dear friend.

Sending all my love in this difficult time. Wish we could all be there in person to say goodbye and be there for you all. Pete was an amazing person with a big heart. He will truly be missed. Love you all!

  • Pete .. remembering you with a smile. You were a good friend to me at Avnet. I will miss sharing our family updates and Disney stories. I’m so thankful you were able to travel to Walt Disney with your family. You were so happy and I will always remember your kind gestures or your silly stories. You were quiet but such a kind man. You were a friend to me. You will be missed. Blessings and prayer for your family. Gone too soon but never forgotten!

  • Pedro, I’m so very sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. Please know that I have you and your family in my prayers.

  • My deepest condolences to the Escobedo family for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Pete at Avnet meeting 16 years ago. A couple of assignments had us sitting by each other and he was genuinely so kind, friendly and would easily break out with that big smile and hearty laugh. His friendship helped me through a particularly difficult spot when I was dealing with my parent’s health issues. He would ask how they were doing and I always felt he sincerely cared.
I hope these co-worker stories posted bring some small measure of comfort to his family. It is clear he was beloved and will be truly missed by his work family. Making a trip to Morelos and catching up with Pete was on my list of “things to do”. My heart is heavy not in this lifetime but God willing someday. Rest well and God bless you Pete until we meet again.

  • Lila, I’m so sorry for your loss. I have had the privilege of working with Pete for many years, and wanted to share he was an outstanding person. Pete was always kind, collaborative and made all those he came in contact feel like family. We have continued to speak of Pete regularly and the ripples he has made circle the world. Please always consider our Avnet family and extended part of your family.
