Pamela Sue Sears Felstead

Pamela Sue Sears Felstead, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 24, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Kenneth and Evelyn Sue Sears, the oldest of their four children. She grew up alongside her siblings – Deborah (Debbie), Teran (Terri), and Timothy – each of whom she loved deeply.

In 1959, the Sears family moved to Arizona, where Pam’s bright spirit quickly found its place. She attended Mesa Junior High, and it was there, during her freshman year, that she met the boy who would one day become her husband—Ron Felstead. Though they attended different high schools the following year, their connection endured. Ron graduated from the first class of Westwood High, while Pam thrived at Mesa High, where she was deeply involved in school life. She served as secretary on student council, sang with the Acappellas, and performed as a Roper on the Rabettes. Pam was social, energetic, and surrounded by friends—traits that would define her throughout her life.

Pam and Ron found their way back to each other during their senior year. Ron proposed in July 1967, determined not to let her slip away again, and they were married on December 23 of that same year. Shortly after, Ron’s military service took them to Fort Huachuca near Tucson, and in 1969 they returned to Mesa to begin the next chapter of their lives. Pam embraced motherhood wholeheartedly, welcoming their daughter Missy in July 1970 and their son Jeremy in December 1972. True to form, she hit the ground running.

Pam’s dedication to her family and community was extraordinary. In 1974, following in her mother-in-law’s footsteps, she joined the Mesa Lutheran Auxiliary and became Volunteer Advisor just a year later. That same year she joined Desert Club, serving as Corresponding Secretary in 1975, Member at Large in 1978, and President-Elect by 1980.

Her passion for service didn’t stop there. In 1978 she joined the Music Guild of Mesa, becoming Vice President in 1979 and President in 1980. She was also active in the YMCA and MacArthur Elementary’s PTO. Her calendar was full, her energy boundless, and her commitment unwavering. Her efforts were recognized when she was selected as one of the Outstanding Young Women of America for 1980 and nominated for Arizona’s Young Mother of the Year.

Pam lived a life of purpose, generosity, and joy. She touched countless lives through her volunteer work, her friendships, and her devotion to her family. She was truly special, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her – most of all by her high school sweetheart and husband of nearly six decades, Ron.

She is survived by her loving husband Ron Felstead, her children Missy Glover (Troy), Jeremy Felstead (Lindsey), her eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, extended family and many dear friends.

There is a Celebration of Pam’s Life being held Tuesday May 12, 2026 at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, Arizona 85297 from 6-8:00 pm. Open Sharing will begin at 7:00 pm.
