Lori Ann Frye of Queen Creek Arizona went home to meet our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday 10 February 2024.  She was born on 6 April 1966 and lost her yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer at the young age of 57.  She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family and inundated with our admiration, adoration, and tears.

Lori was born in Salt Lake City but resided in the Valley of the Sun for over 30 years.  She was a beloved wife to Calvin Frye; she was a tireless mother of Ashley Cady, Whitney Barber, Chase Frye, Claire Frye, Emma Frye, and Alyson Frye; and Lori was the best grandma in the world to her nine grandchildren.  She worked in administrative roles in K-12 schools, with her professional career primarily vested at ASU Polytechnic Academy.   Lori considered her family and the unshakeable faith they share with her to be her life’s greatest achievement.

Lori was the embodiment of God’s grace and love.  “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.  It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”  1 Corinthians 13:4-7

A memorial service for Lori will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, 15 February 2024, at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E. Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ.

  • Calvin,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember in our conversation when we met at Monterrey in that great beer place right at your hotel lobby you told me “She is the only good thing about me” and I know you meant that as a joke because I could see the great love you had for her and your family.

Thank you for taking such good care of Karla and be sure you are always on our minds and hearts as a mentor for her and a friend to both.

Your wife is surely proud of you and your family.

    Cal,
My heart goes out to you and your family for your loss, but we know that she no longer suffers and resides with our Lord in heaven . As brothers in Christ for many years and I was glad that she made you so happy and content when you first married-Lori was a woman of the
Lord, an exceptional mom, educator, manager, and friend. She will be forever missed , but the world will gain from the excellent children that she raised and mentored. She was the epitome of Proverbs3:5,6.” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths smooth.”

We all thank the Lord for the blessing to know and share a moment in time with Lori.
My condolences and prayers to you and the family.

    Your Brother,
    Richard Jee

    Calvin,
My most sincere and deepest condolences to you and your family, Lori will truly be missed but will live on in our hearts. Like I mentioned once before, even though Lori and I didn’t talk much, just by hearing you talk about her with so much love, made me feel as if I had known her as long as we’ve known each other brother. I hope our friendship and prayers ease you through this difficult and most challenging time.

    With you in sorrow

    Javier E. Aguilar

  • Dear Frye Family,
You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that you lean on all those around you during this difficult time, and find comfort in the best memories of your Mom.

  • Penny & Steve Coates

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Lori was a beautiful person inside and out. She will live on in the beautiful memories that you made together as a blessed family.

  • Lori was the face of gentleness, loving kindness, warmth, devotion, happiness and joy. Cal and I have been the best of friends long before he met the love of his life. I was there when he said, “she is the one.” And I was there as the best man at their wedding. And mixed in with my tears of profound sadness, are tears of great joy as I picture all of their children together with her at the last. Can there be a sweeter goodbye? All my love to Frye family.

Beautiful Frye family – our lives are forever touched & impacted through the love, grace, and kindness always extended to us from our precious Sister in Christ Lori. Her smiles, and gentle eyes met Wyatt & I daily at ASU Prep, and she brought the family connection that was needed for every day we interacted. The love and light of Jesus in her journey is always apparent. Thank you for sharing your Mama with us – we are forever grateful, to have been Blessed by her, and know that the legacy of her life will be carried on through her beautiful family. The gentle and quiet spirit that is so valued in the eyes of God is on the heart of Lori and her loved ones. Blessings and prayers for the whole family. We love ya’ll. Cal,

Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Lori was an incredible woman from the stories you shared, and your devotion to each other is inspiring. You truly were blessed to find one another, and may her love, wisdom and strength, which you so cherished, live on in the beautiful family you raised together.

  • Lori was a special person, born on a special day. She was the answer to her mother, Ruth’s, prayers and was a joy from the moment she was born. Ruth feels Lori’s touch in every room of her house and yard where Lori labored cleaning, painting, decorating and making many improvements to her home. She was so generous with her time and money and she will be greatly missed. Message from Ruth sent by cousin Marilyn.

    Dearest family of Lori,
I just found out about this yesterday, April 7th. It is with my deepest sympathies that I write this. Lori was a wonderful friend, mom, wife and grandma. She always made me laugh. We share a lot of fun moments. When I had cancer 5 years ago, she reached out to me, as I knew she would. When I found out about hers, it seemed quite some time ago, and we spoke a few times through messaging. But then came a time I did not hear from her. I found out about 2 months ago that she was very ill. I wanted to reach out to her but was told she probably would not respond. And I respected that. I just want you to know that you are all in my prayers and I know that she is safe in the arms of Jesus and out of pain. I know she is looking down on all of you and her presence will never leave you! Love and heartfelt condolences, Jodie Sammartino
