Linda Fay Hunter, age 78, of San Tan Valley, AZ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from her long bout with Parkinson’s disease. Linda was born in Phoenix, AZ, July 5, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was the daughter of Armon and Fay Nikolaus Curtis.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bert P. Hunter of 55 years, son Justin Bill Hunter, brother, Nikolaus A Curtis and most recently, her sister, Carolyn Tanner.

She is survived by her son, Jason Bert Hunter, grandchildren, Nicolas Hunter and Skye Hunter; sisters – Bobbie Brooks Hallows and Ann C. Packard (Von); and many nephews, nieces and cousins that love and will miss her dearly – and her unique sense of humor.

She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is within her faith that she had the opportunity to extend her love and knowledge to many, as a leader and teacher. She was known for her creativeness in teaching principles of the gospel. In addition to meeting her church callings, she became very involved in Boy Scouts, completing certifications and rankings where she assisted other units within the area she lived. She loved Scouting, and again, was known for her fun and lively planned meetings and activities.

There were many jobs that Linda worked at while supporting her husband and sons. The job she most enjoyed was when she decided to open up a daycare in Carlsbad, CA. She was later asked to become a Head Start care center. She loved little children – and the children loved her. She became very involved in meeting the outcomes for children in the Head Start program, always going above and beyond to prepare them for the future while loving and caring for them.

As Parkinson’s disease took a toll on Linda’s health, she had to give up on the things she loved to do. Reading, gardening, baking, learning new hobbies and adding to her collections. She loved to be surrounded by beautiful things and took great pleasure in finding items to adorn her walls and home.

Linda thought herself to be an introvert – but she was the best listener – and she loved to visit with family and friends. She will be missed in so many ways, but her family is grateful and has been blessed by her life and service.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 32584 N. Gary Road, San Tan Valley, AZ.

Visitation starts at 9 am, with funeral services beginning at 10 am. After services, internment will be at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms.

Arrangements were made through Gilbert Memorial Park by the Bunker Family.
