Clotilde Severino Cataneo, 92, of Pehuajo, Buenos Aires, Argentina passed away on October 9, 2023, at 5:30 AM surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on May 24, 1931, Clotilde Cataneo was a beloved daughter, mother, grandparent, and great-grandparent who touched the lives of those around her with her kindness, generosity, sense of humor and most importantly her laughter. She faced life’s challenges with so much resilience and faith.

Clotilde had a life of upheavals and many challenges. She was an orphan along with five siblings at an early age. Throughout her life she endured all circumstances with faith in the Lord and courage. Her resilient spirit was admirable, and she infused her gifts in all her children and grandchildren. Her charitable and sociable nature rewarded her with many loving friends.

The Lord Almighty has given her longevity and surrounded her with loving and caring people.  She had expressed her love with good meals and good deeds all through the days of her ninety-two years of life. She had a million-dollar smile and a heart of gold. Just being near her was a joy.

When Clotilde lived in Argentina, she was a textile worker, a cook, a housewife, a seamstress, and an entrepreneur owning a delicatessen for many years. After she came to the United States, she became a pet groomer and a homemaker. She was loved by her employers and was financially independent. She also loved decorating and knitting.

Clotilde Severino Cataneo is survived by her daughters Maria Del Carmen Cataneo Culligan, Silvia Beatriz Cataneo, and Virginia Estela Cataneo, her daughter-in-law Estela De Las Nieves Castillo Cataneo, her son-in-law, Thomas Jospeh Culligan, her grandchildren Mariano Ariel Rizzo, Celia Virginia Gutierrez, Natalia Paola Iarusso, Esteban Javier Iarusso, Luis Antoneo Cataneo, Jhonatan David Cataneo, Maria Cristina Del Pilar Cataneo Culligan, and Alexa Amancay Ramirez, and her great grandchildren Gaston Corbalan, Carlos Corbalan, Abril Corbalan, Santiago Abel Chiderski, Eliana Ailen Chiderski, Martina Iarusso, Nina Giuliana Rizzo, Giovanna Nilda Rizzo, Annabelle Rose Cataneo, Everly June Cataneo, Lacey Jewel Cataneo, and Alexander Luciano Cataneo. They will continue to honor her legacy.

Clotilde was preceded in death by her parents Facundo Severino and Herminia Raffin, her spouse Lucio Del Carmen Cataneo, her siblings Matilde Severino Tozzi, Matias Severino, Maria Elena Martinez, Jorge Severino, and Chichi Severino and her son Lucio Antonio Cataneo.

A memorial service to celebrate Clotilde Severino Cataneo’s life will be held at 6:00pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297, with visitation beginning at 4:00pm.

Clotilde Severino Cataneo, 92 años, de Pehuajo, Buenos Aires, Argentina falleció el 9 de octubre de 2023 a las 5:30 a.m. rodeada de sus seres queridos.

Nacida el 24 de mayo de 1931, Clotilde Cataneo fue una querida hija, madre, abuela y bisabuela que tocó la vida de quienes la rodeaban con su amabilidad, generosidad, sentido del humor y, lo más importante, su risa. Enfrentó los desafíos de la vida con mucha resiliencia y fe.

Clotilde tuvo una vida de agitaciones y muchos desafíos. Quedó huérfana junto con cinco hermanos a una edad temprana. A lo largo de su vida soportó todas las circunstancias con fe en el Señor y valentía. Su espíritu resiliente era admirable e infundió sus dones en todos sus hijos y nietos. Su naturaleza caritativa y sociable la recompensó con muchos amigos cariñosos.

El Señor Todopoderoso le ha dado longevidad y la ha rodeado de gente amorosa y atenta. Había expresado su amor con buenas comidas y buenas obras a lo largo de sus noventa y dos años de vida. Tenía una sonrisa de un millón de dólares y un corazón de oro. Simplemente estar cerca de ella era un placer.

Cuando Clotilde vivió en Argentina, fue trabajadora textil, cocinera, ama de casa, costurera y empresaria propietaria de una charcutería durante muchos años. Después de llegar a los Estados Unidos, se convirtió en peluquera de mascotas y ama de casa. Sus empleadores la querían y era económicamente independiente. También le encantaba decorar y tejer.

A Clotilde Severino Cataneo le sobreviven sus hijas María Del Carmen Cataneo Culligan, Silvia Beatriz Cataneo y Virginia Estela Cataneo, su yerno Thomas Joseph Culligan, sus nietos Mariano Ariel Rizzo, Celia Virginia Gutiérrez, Natalia Paola Iarusso, Esteban Javier Iarusso, Luis Antoneo Cataneo, Jhonatan David Cataneo, María Cristina Del Pilar Cataneo Culligan y Alexa Amancay Ramirez, y sus bisnietos Gaston Corbalan, Carlos Corbalan, Abril Corbalan, Santiago Abel Chiderski, Eliana Ailen Chiderski, Martina Iarusso, Nina Giuliana Rizzo, Giovanna Nilda Rizzo, Annabelle Rose Cataneo, Everly June Cataneo, Lacey Jewel Cataneo y Alexander Luciano Cataneo. Continuarán honrando su legado.

Clotilde fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres Facundo Severino y Herminia Raffin, su esposo Lucio Del Carmen Cataneo, sus hermanos Matilde Severino Tozzi, Matías Severino, María Elena Martínez, Jorge Severino y Chichi Severino y su hijo Lucio Antonio Cataneo.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo para celebrar la vida de Clotilde Severino Cataneo a las 6:00 p. m. el sábado 21 de octubre de 2023 en Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297, y las visitas comenzarán a las 4:00 p. m.
