Cassandra Brielle Hatch, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend was called home on Saturday, June 20, 2020. She was a daddy’s girl to her father Jason, everything to her mother Machell, a much needed source of strength to her sister Tessa, a forever best friend to her sister Jillian, a light and guide to her brother Corbin, and the soulmate of sweet Jake.

Brielle lived life intentionally and passionately. She loved her family fiercely. Her spirit was touched by the beauty of nature and she loved sunshine, hiking, lake trips, and beaches. She expressed feelings through music and played the piano masterfully, the ukulele joyfully, the guitar soulfully, and the organ dutifully. She sang like an angel. Oh how she will be missed.

Brielle was an unwavering disciple of Jesus Christ and felt privileged to serve the Lord and share a message of hope and peace with the people of France and Belgium as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She continued her devotion to this cause after her full time service.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the LDS Chandler East Stake Center, 21320 S. Greenfield Road, Gilbert, Arizona. Public viewing, open to all, will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral and graveside services will be limited to family and close friends by invitation only. The service will be broadcast live for those who are unable to attend in person at: https://events.eventusai.com/Brielle.  She will be laid to rest at Gilbert Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to enjoy a beautiful sunset, think of Brielle, and know that her light has not dimmed, but has simply moved on.

If you would be willing to share your memories and pictures of Brielle with her family, they would be grateful. Please email them to brightlikebrielle@gmail.com.

    Dear Hatch family,
We are friends and neighbors of the Cottle family in Southern Maryland. Bishop Cottle was our Bishop for many years. Jenn was so looking forward to Brielle and Jake coming back here to Maryland later this summer. We were able to visit briefly with Jake while he was here for Jenn’s birthday just a couple of weeks ago.
I knew from seeing your daughter’s picture that she was a wonderful young woman and matched Jake so well. I have read about what a joyful, kind and radiant person she was. We are so sorry for the passing of these wonderful young people. We pray that you will be surrounded by angels and that you will be comforted at this very difficult time.

Brielle is a beautiful strong example of Christ and the examples from her life shared today strengthened our family’s testimonies and faith in our Heavenly Father. Continued prayers for you sweet Hatch family. And Brielle will be in our thoughts at each sunset/sunrise.

  • My heart goes out to Brielle’s family. I knew Brielle through her friendship with my sons. Hansan and Dallan loved Brielle, and they considered her one of their favorite, best friends. She was a beautiful example of divine womanhood and Christ-like goodness. As I listened to the heartfelt and inspirational words spoken about Brielle during the funeral service today, her life inspired me to strive to live brighter.

We are so sorry for your loss. May God be with you.

Love Lynne, Hansan & Dallan Jones

  • So sorry for your loss of Brielle. I heard great things about her from my son Matt (Perry) and can see that she was a lovely young lady. May your love for her comfort you in this time of sadness.

  • I really didn’t know Brielle that well. I only hung out with her about 3 times. But those three times I spent with her were really something. I was amazed at her beauty, kindness, and confidence. So energetic and fun. The moments spent with her were far from dull!
When I saw the post on Facebook that my cousin (Ruth Zurcher) had posted about her passing, I couldn’t believe it. The feeling I had felt was something that I had never felt before. I had experienced the sadness of death with my grandparents, but this was different. My grandparents death was expected, and it was most definitely their time to leave this earth, and my family and I were prepared for it. But this is something that I wasn’t prepared for, no one was prepared for this. My heart sank. I immediately remembered our messages we had exchanged over Instagram consisting of “girl! We need to hang out soon okay?!” I believe we had said that to each other about 3 times, and now there’s nothing I regret more than not making it happen.
I also remember feeling anger. Anger in thinking that she had so much to offer to this world but it was taken so abruptly. Anger in that she was the last person to ever deserve something like this. But as I continued to ponder the situation, it made me – and I bet many others that knew her – think about how precious life is, because of how quickly it can be taken away. I then began to ponder about my own life and what I’ve done, how I’ve treated those around me.. and compared it to how I felt around Brielle. This helped me to realize that I needed to make some serious changes, changes that would help me to be more proud of the life that I would leave behind if my life were to be taken just as soon and unexpectedly. I decided that the best way to move forward is to be more like her, to be #BrightlikeBrielle, because she was so much like our Savior.

If Brielle had the capacity to leave a girl like me (someone she hardly knew) in such awe and amazement, then I can’t imagine what she must have done for her family and how they must feel during this time. My prayers go out to you. The funeral service was beautiful! And the spirit was so strong. I loved how each family member had such a strong testimony of the gospel, and how it helped them to overcome something so tragic. It truly built my own personal testimony, so thank you so much.

Machell, Jason, Tessa, Jillian and Corbin—thank you for the courage and strength it took to share your thoughts with us at the funeral. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, but so inspiring. You truly comforted me today as I heard you share your memories and testimonies. We wept with you as we listened from home. Brielle was so brave and faithful, and lived a beautiful life. I love how you shared that her challenges made her into the strong, courageous girl that she was. I want to add my faith to yours, that our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us all to return home to him, with those we love. His plan is one of mercy and grace and growth. Brielle will always be yours. She will continue to grow and learn so many amazing things and will continue to be able to love bless your family. Families are forever and our Savior makes it all possible. I love you guys and will continue to plead with the Lord to bless and comfort you during this heartbreaking time. Much love to you all 💛
