It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Bernice Novello, who left us peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Chandler, Arizona, at the age of 76.  She was known as “Berenice”, “Berns”, “B”,  “Ma”, “Mom”, “Nona” and “Old Lady” to her closest people.

Born on November 6, 1948, in Montazzoli, a province of Chieti, Italy, Bernice was the cherished daughter of the late Esterina and Ernesto. At the age of 11, she immigrated to the United States in 1960, settling with her family in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. She embraced her new life with determination and grace, carrying with her the warmth and traditions of her Italian roots.

Bernice was preceded in death by her brothers Michael and Vince, and her sister Anna. She is survived by her loving sons, John Loepsinger, and Robert Romak with his wife Stacey, along with their children Hudson and Zoey, who will forever cherish her memory. She is also survived by her devoted brother Lou and his family, her loving partner Jack Jackson and his family, her dear friend Shelly, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A talented seamstress and successful business owner, Bernice’s work was marked by skill, creativity, and an eye for beauty. She was also an exceptional cook, known especially for her unforgettable lasagna, which brought family and friends together around the table. Beyond her many talents, she found true joy in the simple moments—sewing, gathering with loved ones, and most especially, spending precious time with her grandchildren. Her presence was a source of comfort and love, and her laughter could light up any room.

Bernice’s legacy is one of resilience, kindness, and devotion to her family. She touched countless lives with her generosity of spirit and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

A visitation service to honor Bernice’s life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, Arizona. A celebration following the visitation will be announced.

Though she is gone from our sight, she will live forever in our hearts—and in the smiles of Hudson and Zoey, who were her greatest joy.
