Sybil Louanne Roberts, 64, of Mesa, Arizona, died April 5, 2026, at Vesta House Hospice in Chandler, Arizona.
Sybil was born on December 30, 1961, in Fosston, Minnesota, to Robert and Mary Engel. She was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. With her parents and siblings, she lived in Minnesota, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas, spending most of her adult life in Arizona.
She married Randy Roberts on September 9, 1978, in Houston, Texas. The two moved back to Tucson, Arizona, where they started their family.
Sybil could fix anything, make any room feel like home, and keep everything around her organized and running. She had a sharp eye as a shopper too, famous among family and friends for finding unique, high-quality items at prices no one could believe.
She is survived by her son Jordan Roberts and daughter-in-law Faith of Mesa, AZ, and their children Mason and Matthew; her son Erik Roberts and daughter-in-law Jenay of Queen Creek, AZ, and their children Kaileigh, Peyton, and Landon; her mother, Mary Engel of Chandler; her sister, Christine Hippensteel and brother-in-law Tracy of Chandler; her brother, Jason Engel and sister-in-law Christina of Rio Rancho, NM; and her brother, Cameron Engel and sister-in-law Connie of Gilbert, AZ. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Joseph, Jessica, Jacob, Samantha, Chelsea, Leticia, Rico, Dylan, Dustin, Ryan, and Jace, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sybil was preceded in death by her father, Robert Engel, and her former husband, Randy Roberts.
In her last few days, she was surrounded by family and friends. At her request, she is being cremated, and no services will be held.
