On January 4, 2026, the world lost an amazing woman — Janie Remos Moreno, age 93. She was a devoted mother to Rosemary Gaona, Joe Moreno (Debbie), Andy Moreno (Maria), Lillian Mendez (Arnold), Janie Moreno, Veronica Vega, and John Moreno. She was also a loving grandmother to twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents (Ysauro and Dolores Remos), she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel D. Moreno; son, Andy Moreno; brothers Albert and Paul; sister, Tommie Rodriguez; and grandson, Manuel Andrew Moreno.
Janie’s life embodied resilience, strength, sacrifice, generosity, and love. Family was her greatest priority, and she taught those around her to give freely and without hesitation. She was a fierce advocate for others, embraced new challenges—from real estate to restaurant ownership to driving a school bus—and greeted everyone she met with warmth. Her holiday gatherings were openhearted and welcoming, not just for her family, but also for others who wanted to join. Janie’s legacy lives on not only in the hearts of her family and friends but in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her celebration of life will be held at Saint Juan Diego Catholic Church (3200 S. Cooper Rd., Chandler, AZ 85286) on Friday, January 16, 2026. There will be a Rosary starting at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. The Funeral Reception will be held at 12:00 pm at Trilogy at Power Ranch Clubhouse (4369 E. Village Parkway, Gilbert, AZ 85298).

Janie was our Den Mother when Joe, Andy and I were in Cub Scouts. She worked tirelessly to keep the entire group focused on our projects and to instill in each of us a sense of comradie and self confidence. I will always continue to be thankful for the interest she showed to each of us in the group.
Thank you for sharing this lovely memory of my mom teaching you all confidence as young boys!! I appreciate your thoughtfulness!❤️
