Heather Jensen Wayment was born on October 25, 1974, in Salt Lake City, UT and passed away on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Heather fought a brave and unexpected battle with cancer. Heather was known for her warmth, kindness, and remarkable ability to connect with others. She has left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She grew up in Sandy, UT, Redmond, WA and Mission Viejo, CA. Heather pursued higher education in Provo, UT and Pocatello, ID, earning a Bachelor Degree in Education. Teaching was her calling, and she touched countless lives through her work in Miss Heathers classroom.

On August 11, 1995, Heather married Scott Keith Wayment in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they built a life centered on faith, family and service. Together, they taught their children the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints her entire life. She held many callings in the church and gave every assignment her full love and heart. Heather was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, educator, and friend who gave her whole heart in everything she did. She was the first to volunteer and did so joyfully.

Heather had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued and loved. Her legacy is one of kindness, presence, and genuine care. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband Scott Keith Wayment, her children Blake (Savannah), Hadley, Avery, Easton, Steele; her parents Jay A Jensen (Cecile) and Susan Rabiger (David); her siblings Nat (Brian), Hilary (Jon), and Trisha (Scott); Scott’s mother Cherie Wayment; Scott’s siblings Shelley (Brent), Shawn (Karen), Andy (Kristin), MaryAnn (Scott), Robbie (Courtney), Jake (Brooklyn) and Jodi (Eric). Heather is preceded in death by her father in law Keith Wayment. She felt like all of her preschoolers, and friends were more like family. Thus, she is also survived by countless friends and loved ones. We can hardly wait for the joyous reunion and hug from Heather. Until we meet again, no empty chair.

Condolences

  • I met Heather only a few times, but it was immediately clear to me that she was a truly remarkable woman. Her presence was warm and genuine, and she always left an impression.
I know her sisters Hilary and Trish very well, and I know how deeply they will miss her — not only as a sister, but as their best friend. She is clearly loved beyond measure and will be profoundly missed by all who were lucky enough to call her theirs.

Heaven is so lucky to have her back, though I know her absence here leaves an immeasurable ache. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

    With heartfelt sympathy,
    Jenny Thompson
