Corliss Jean Toone

Corliss Jean Toone, age 75, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She finally graduated from her lengthy battle with Leukemia. Corliss was born February 7, 1950 in Gallup, New Mexico, a daughter of the late Marion Wayne Whiting and Billie Jean Lewis. She moved to Mesa AZ in 1955 from St. John’s AZ where she later attended Westwood High School and met her sweetheart, Bryan Toone, whom she married in 1971.

Corliss was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the perfect homemaker and mother. Her lengthy years of service to her church and community included serving a mission with her husband, Bryan, in Hong Kong with audit assignments in Asia which allowed them both many wonderful experiences traveling  and meeting members of the church in Mongolia, India, Thailand, Singapore and many other countries. She served faithfully over the Young Women for several years including running Young Women’s Girl Camp, which was her favorite calling.

Corliss was actively involved in the lives of her 7 children, 32 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with family as they brought her so much joy. She enjoyed music, art, and was an incredible seamstress. Her home was always open to others; filled with peace and love.

Corliss is survived by her loving husband, Bryan, as well as 4 sons, 3 daughters and their families: Brent and Allyson Toone, Dale and Michelle Toone, Dwayne Toone, Jeffrey and Melissa Wing, David and Michelle Johnson, Spencer and Celinda Toone, Christopher and Alisha Smith, and families. She also leaves behind her sister, Vicki Gunnell, and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
