Brian M Hudson unexpectedly passed away on June 28, 2025 at age 42 in Chandler Arizona. He was born in Mesa Arizona and loved playing sports as a kid. He was a multi-time little league all-star and got a hole in one at golf at age 13.
Brian was a Phoenix Brophy Prep HS Graduate and acquired an engineering degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. After college, Brian had an 18-year career as a Metallurgist, Foundry Engineer and Quality Manager at ME Global Tempe Arizona. He also had temporary assignments at ME’s China and Duluth Minnesota foundries.
However, his most important job was as a loving dad to his 2 children he raised with wife Lindsay. Brian’s children, Blake(12) & Grace(10) are left to carry on his legacy. They fondly joke about the fun they have had playing video games with their dad and nightly book readings together on the couch. Watching the kids play sports was pure joy for him, Blake: baseball and Grace: soccer. His love of Arizona sports and going to games together will always be good memories for them.
He is survived by his parents Mike & Marilyn who raised him to be the great man he was. They lovingly spent time and many meals with Brian & the kids. Mike shared his love of sports with Brian. Marilyn and Brian bonded over music, and she supported him in all he did.
Brian’s memorial service will be held on July 12, 2025, from 11am to 12pm at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, AZ, 85297. Reception & lunch will follow at the same location from noon to 2pm. Brian preferred dressing casually, often wearing a sports jersey or shirt. Those who attend are welcome to do the same. Dark colors are not necessary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s name to the American Diabetes Association Memorial Gift Fund.

As a longtime supplier to both the ME Duluth and ME Tempe facilities I had known Brian since he began at ME Tempe. I grew to know Brian quite well over his18 years there. He was very good at his job and a pleasure to deal with. He sought my counsel many times on both a business and personal basis. As we grew closer I found Brian to be a true person and a very capable engineer. He was just a genuine human being. We always sought each other out at the many foundry shows and AFS functions. Brian may have been at times a”quiet” man but he was a giant human being as generous as the day is long.
Brian you will be sorely missed by many and that definitely includes me. My sincere condolences to Lindsey and your two children I share your loss.
Thank you for all the nice comments.

Thank you Tanner. He loved you too!
I first met Brian at the Steel Founders’ Society of America 2019 T&O Conference, when we worked together in a small four-person team during the defect analysis workshop, we ended up winning first place. Since then, we would see each other every year at the T&O conference and the research review meetings in Chicago. I always enjoyed our conversations.
Brian was a smart, curious, dedicated and experienced engineer who made a strong contribution to the steel industry. Beyond his technical talent, he was also a calm, polite, and thoughtful person with a truly great personality.
His sudden passing is deeply saddening.
May he rest in peace.
This was such a shock. I have enjoyed working with Brian over the past many years. He was always someone you can count on. I enjoyed talking sports with him and sharing stories. I will miss his friendship. My thoughts and prayers go to his family as this is a very difficult time.
We are so sorry to hear of your son’s passing. You are is our prayers.
I am one of Brian’s former teacher at the University of Arizona and I am so sorry to hear about this very sad news.
Brian was kind and generous with his time. Our school was blessed by the foundry presentations he did for our fourth grade classes. He will be greatly missed.
