Cemetery Rules and Regulations
THE RULES AND REGULATIONS are the Grantor’s (Gilbert Cemetery, LCC) directions as referenced in the Deed. Grantor shall implement these Rules and Regulations or directions through the Cemetery Management. Gilbert Memorial Park and Funeral Home reserves the right to refuse admission to the Cemetery and/or Funeral Home grounds, or to expel any person violating these rules and regulations or when it deems their actions objectionable or when the presence may not be in the best interest of the Cemetery or Funeral Home.
DISRUPTION OF PEACE No person shall be permitted to use profanity or boisterous language or in any way disturb the peace, quiet, and good order of the Cemetery or Funeral Home. The bringing of alcohol, intoxicating liquors, or illegal drugs within the confines of Gilbert Memorial Park and/or Funeral Home is strictly forbidden. The individual in question will be asked to cease their actions immediately or will be asked to leave either voluntarily or by an appropriate law enforcement officer.
TRESPASSING Any person found on the grounds after visiting hours will be considered trespassing, no person shall be permitted to enter of leave the cemetery except by the entrances and exits provided.
THE CEMETERY MANAGEMENT shall, under the direction of the Board of Directors, have absolute charge of the cemetery and is authorized to enforce the rules to maintain order and supervise all workmen, visitors, and drivers of vehicles. Gilbert Memorial Park is a privately endowed cemetery. The cemetery rules and regulations are designated to provide safety and enjoyment to visitors.
ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS AND DECORATIONS are permitted. The cemetery will dispose of these items as necessary. Glass jars, tin cans, pottery, wire, wood sticks or similar objects (solar lights, candles, shepherd hooks) are always prohibited. Holiday decorations are removed one week after the holiday. The only exception is Christmas – decorations will be removed on January 15th. The cemetery recognizes these holidays: Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
INVERTIBLE VASES only are to be used as floral receptacles on graves. Other vases will be removed. All vases must have either a separate 12” granite or concrete collar or be part of the manufactured memorial marker.
THEFT OR DAMAGE Gilbert Memorial Park and Funeral Home is NOT responsible for theft or damage to anything placed on burial spaces, niches, or in glass front niches. Gilbert Memorial Park and its agents shall have the authority to enter upon any burial space, niche, or glass front niche and remove any objectional object or structure that may have been placed.
PLANTING OR DIGGING by anyone other than cemetery personnel is prohibited. Personal landscaping of cemetery property, including shrubs and trees, is not allowed.
WALKWAY surfaces cannot be decorated with floral arrangements or other objects. The cemetery reserves the right to limit floral tributes and remove all flowers, wreaths, or other decorations from the cemetery as soon as they become unsightly. No decorative objects or photos may be affixed to the crypt and niche fronts by tape or other means.
MEMORIAL MARKERS must be inspected and approved for quality, style, material, size, design, language, content, per specifications determined by Cemetery Management and be installed by our cemetery personnel, or by a party contracted by the cemetery. The Cemetery Management shall have the authority to reject any memorial based on the criteria above. All fees due on the grave space must be paid prior to any memorial marker being placed on the grave space, including any installation fees. Only flat markers made of granite, or bronze are allowed. The exceptions are upright monuments and benches in designated areas, which can be purchased from the cemetery or an approved third-party vendor. The maximum height for an upright monument is 48” tall and the maximum width over one space is 28” and over two space is 60”. The maximum width of a flat granite marker on a single grave shall be no more than 32” and over two graves shall be no more than 60” wide. No more than two markers may be placed on a grave. All flat markers will be set flush with and follow the contour of the established grade. The cemetery is not liable for any photograph that becomes damaged or separates from its memorial. Replacement or reattachment of a photograph will be charged in accordance with current prices. Upon delivery of marker to cemetery, all families will be assessed a setting and onetime maintenance fee. The one-time maintenance fee will cover the marker trimming during the mowing season, raise and level of marker and/or vase due to settling after installation and the cemetery’s replacement costs of the memorial marker and/or vase if damage has occurred to the granite or bronze due to any maintenance equipment operations. The maintenance fee will not cover bronze refinishing due to weathering, the replacement of any ceramic photographs or any personal items left at or on the memorial marker.
OUTER BURIAL CONTAINERS (vaults and/or urn vaults), approved by the cemetery, must be used for each interment and/or inurnment. The cemetery reserves the right to install all vaults.

AMENDMENTS OR REVISIONS to these Rules and Regulations may be made from time to time as decided by Gilbert Cemetery LLC management and are effective immediately for all lots and graves within the cemetery.
