Benny James Rosales passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 29.  He was born June 26, 1996, and grew up in Gilbert, AZ.  From a young age, his sense of humor kept us all on our heels, whether it was funny things he said, or impersonations he did.  He had a genuine smile and an unforgettable laugh. Benny enjoyed working with his hands and was always excited to build things and work in his garden.  He was naturally gifted with so many talents.  He took first place in wrestling his 8th grade year. He played guitar, bass, drums, trumpet and the recorder. He loved art and tattooing and used himself as a canvas.  His true passion was riding bikes, scooters and skateboards. He could always be spotted riding around town or defying gravity at the skateparks, throwing flips with no helmet.  His life was never shy of adventure, and he even delivered his firstborn child at home.  Benny truly loved his kids and actively shared his hobbies with them.  They were always at the park, riding bikes, or fishing at Stonebridge in front of the “resident’s only” sign.  Benny was deeply loved by all his family and will forever be missed.

Benny is survived by his spouse, Tessa, stepson, Roman, son, Royal, daughter, Ruby, mother, Sarah Groves, father, Benny Rosales, brother, Rigo Mesa, grandfather, Salvador Camerena, grandparents, Benny and Della Rosales, aunts and uncles, Jacob Groves, Angela Jamison, Nikki Rosales (Paka), Lisa Kohl (Trevor), cousins, Ariah, Natteya, Mason, Ava, Ace, Isabella, Jacob, Tanner, Mandie, Damian, Mila, Booker and Kampton.  Along with his family, Benny is survived by countless friends.

Benny is joined in eternal rest with grandmother, Cindy Flanagan, grandfather, Henry Groves II, and uncle, Bud Groves.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, October 27th, at Gilbert Memorial Park, Cemetery and Funeral Home, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297, with services from 3:00-4:00 pm, followed by a reception for all.

Family requests succulents or plants, in lieu of flowers.

  • Aunt Debbie & Curt

Benny was always wearing a smile when we’d see him. Which would make us smile.
I remember him trying to do a handstand and a somersault, and
he was just a toddler then. He was already working on his flips.
Benny took drum lessons from Curt.
At my dad’s 70th birthday party, Benny and his cousin Diego played a song or two. It was the best tribute to their grandpa Jim! I feel that Benny took after his grandpa Jim. In the manner of once you met him, you never forget him.
Benny was an extremely talented, fun loving, caring young man and will be missed deeply.

Our time spent with Benny will remain in our hearts forever.
    Our heartfelt condolences
    to the family.
    Love Aunt Debbie & Curt
