Brookie Sidney Brown Dickerson, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026—a fitting day for a woman whose life was defined by love and a generous heart.

Born on April 24, 1947, in Mesa, Arizona, Brookie was raised in a faithful Latter-day Saint family and carried her testimony with her throughout her life. Those who knew her will always remember the warmth in her voice when she answered the phone, “Hello? Hello?” and the way she signed her cards and letters, “love, love, love,” a simple expression of the affection that defined her.

She graduated from Brigham Young University and soon after married the love of her life, Curtis Frank Dickerson, in March of 1970. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple, beginning a marriage that would span nearly 56 years. It was a cherished blessing that her great-uncle, Spencer W. Kimball performed their marriage, a sacred family memory she held dear.

Brookie devoted her life to being a mother. Together, she and Curtis raised five children: Todd, Ted, Blaine, Amanda, and Katie. She is survived by her husband, Curtis; her four living children; and 16 beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Barry Brown. She was preceded in death by her son Todd and her brother Curtis Brown.

Brookie loved serving her Heavenly Father in the many Church callings to which she devoted herself. Her faith was steady and sincere, reflected in her favorite scripture, Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone that believeth.”

Loving, tender, and compassionate, Brookie longed most of all for her family to be together—in this life and in the life to come. Her life was one of devotion, testimony, and enduring love.
