On January 4, 2026, under the watchful eye of his beloved dog Max, Omar Alexis Laureano left this world to begin a new adventure.
Omar was born on October 27, 1988, in Tucson, Arizona, to David Laureano and Leticia Christian. Born close to Halloween, he quickly earned the nickname “Pumpkin” from his mother—a nickname that later became a source of playful teasing from friends and coworkers. No matter what, to his mom, Omar would always be her Pumpkin.
Omar took his first steps on his first birthday, a sign of the determination and independence that would follow him throughout his life. He spent his winters growing up in Tucson and many summers in Guaymas, Mexico with his cousins, creating memories that stayed with him forever. During one summer, while attending a private school in Guaymas, Omar famously decided—without his parents’ or aunt’s consent—to have a beauty mark removed. He simply returned home one day, the mark gone, explaining that a friend had taken him to a dermatologist. This story became a family favorite and a glimpse into his bold and humorous spirit.
After graduating from Hamilton High School, Omar discovered his passion for carpentry. His career allowed him to travel and experience the world, working on commercial construction projects in Hawaii, Texas, and the San Francisco Bay Area. No matter where he went, Omar always carried himself with pride—immaculately groomed, stylishly dressed, and professional in every way.
Omar was a truly sweet soul. He was known for his kindness, his constant smile, and his gentle nature. His beautiful smile had a way of winning hearts wherever he went.
He enjoyed snow skiing with friends, playing paintball, and cooking—something he loved sharing with his mom through daily FaceTime calls, whether to show off a meal or ask for advice. Some of his most cherished moments were spent in Rocky Point with his father, enjoying the beach and fishing together.
In 2025, Omar became the proud father of a beautiful baby girl, Amari. Being her dad was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he was blessed to spend her first Christmas and New Year’s by her side.
Omar is survived by his parents, David (Luz) Laureano and Leticia (Robert) Christian; his daughter, Amari Laureano; and his siblings, Damarie Laureano, David Laureano III, Allan (Iris) Eckhart, Victor Corral, and Briana Laureano. He will also be deeply missed by extended family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Gilbert Memorial Park, with a viewing from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by services at 8:00 PM.
A “Loving Farewell for Omar” has been established through a GoFundMe page under David Laureano Jr.
Omar’s love, laughter, and smile will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
