William “Bill” Roy Dunham, 74, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away on July 29, 2023. Born on April 10, 1949, in Dumas, Texas, Bill was a loving, dedicated husband and father. He was a camping and outdoor enthusiast, finding joy in these activities in his early years growing up in Cottonwood, Arizona. Bill had a passion for music, movies, shooting, playing billiards, sipping good coffee, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He particularly cherished simple moments with loved ones and had a fondness for cold weather, enjoying vacations to Vancouver, British Columbia, and Alaskan cruises.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Dunham, and their children Derek Dunham, Jennifer DeWitt, and Sara Fiala. He was preceded in death by his father, David E. Dunham, his mother, Eva Jewell Dunham, and his brother, David E. Dunham Jr.

Bill attended Mingus Union High School and pursued higher education at Phoenix College and Mesa Community College. He had a successful career as a Process Technician at Motorola and later as a Civilian Teleserve Officer at the Gilbert Police Department.

Bill’s faith was important to him, and he found solace and community at Valley Southern Baptist Church and Mission Community Church.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed target shooting, playing pool, going to the movies, listening to music, embarking on memorable cruises and coffee. He was a coffee connoisseur. He was also an avid collector of flashlights and knives.

Memorial services to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or any no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
