William Otis Grubb V, of Gilbert AZ, 19, passed away on Saturday July 16th in Tempe, AZ. Bill, fondly known as Little Bill, by family and friends was born October 2, 2002 in Mesa, AZ to Bill and Terri Grubb.

Bill was a pretty amazing kid. At a very young age, he taught himself to read from playing video games. When Bill was 5 years old he won 4th place in a regional chess tournament. After earning his black belt in ATA taekwondo at the age of 8, he discovered hockey through the kids first program at the Gilbert rink, fell in love with the game, and never looked back. Bill was fortunate enough to have many amazing coaches, and make numerous friendships and lasting memories. His hockey teammates and their families became our family.

Bill will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his incredible ability in math, his love of video games, (CSGo and Minecraft), and his passion for the game of hockey. Bill always made time for his dogs, Chester and Rigby.

Bill was preceded in death by his maternal grandpas Rick Carlin and Roy Cooley, paternal grandpa William Grubb III, and aunts Leslie Carlin and Kim Grubb Vaughn.

Bill is survived by his parents Bill and Terri Grubb, his sister Kaitlyn Grubb of Temple, Texas, Grandmother Maryann Grubb of Albuquerque NM, Grandmother Judy Cooley of Mesa, AZ, bonus Grandmas Eileen Houghland of Garland Texas and Camille Loo of Scottsdale, AZ, Aunt Sharla Grubb of ABQ NM, and cousins Andyn Grubb of ABQ and Stevvi Minter (James) of Fate, Texas.

Donations can be made in Bill’s honor at GoarHockey.com to help other kids grow their love of the game. A special link will be set up in his honor there.

We’re so very sorry for your loss, Grubb family. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

  • take it easy bill. thanks for being my friend.

  • Kobi, I know Bill really enjoyed your talks and your friendship.

  • I met william on counter strike, he used to only use a certain weapon that a lot of people despise, he would always made people mald because of how good he was.
I have a few clips of him on counter strike, man was fun as hell to talk to.
We’d always play together, we weren’t close close but we did play a ton of counter strike together for a good few months.
I havent seen him online in a long time, and I commented on his profile hoping hes doing alright wherever he may be.
One of his good friends added me and told me the news of his passing recently, and man even though I wasnt close to him, I still shed a few tears for this person.
    Rest in paradise, champ.
