William I. Edwards passed from this life on August 12, 2021, one day before his 83rd birthday. He was born in Fort Worth, TX, in 1938 to Hardy and Vera Edwards. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School and Texas Tech, in Lubbock, TX. After serving in the Army Reserves, he moved to Tempe, AZ, where he began a teaching career at Paiute, Pima, and Supai Jr High Schools where he taught science, math, and computer science. Bill retired from teaching in 1995, and became a real estate broker. He and his wife Melinda opened their own real estate business, which they ran for ten years. They enjoyed traveling and volunteering at AZCEND Food Bank. His family is proud of his participation in two Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walks with Melinda, which required months of training to complete the 60-mile charity walks. On most mornings for many years, he enjoyed meeting his friends Auggie Martinez and David Thomas for coffee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister Mary McCown and brother-in-law Charles McCown of Lubbock. He is survived by his wife Melinda; his daughters Patti Sennette (Mark)  and Pam Krahwinkel (Kevin), and their mother Anita Edwards; Melinda’s sons, Gerry Foster (Cheryl) and Ryan Foster; nine grandchildren: Lauren and Brenna Krahwinkel; Hank and Carter Sennette; Madison and Max Foster; and Taryn, Torri, and Taylor Foster; and nieces Camille Pitts (Stephen) and Connie Bowers (Fred).

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Gilbert Memorial Park on Aug 31, at 11:00am. A come-and-go Celebration of Life will follow at 1681 W. Crescent Way, Chandler, from 12:00 until 3:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Liberty Wildlife https://libertywildlife.salsalabs.org/donations/index.html, or AZCEND https://azcend.org/causes/donate/.
