His wish was to come home from long term care & his daughter Anna became his caregiver & ensured all of his needs and requests were honored.

Treasuring the moments they shared as a family and as a first time grandpa.

Wayne passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, September 11, 2023.

An active Vietnam War Veteran

Leaving behind his wife of 44 years Ines Olivia Hunter, his paternal children: Anthony Wayne Hunter & Anna Maria Hunter, his first grandchild a 4 month old granddaughter Harlow Olivia Hunter, his stepson Edwing & like a son Erick who’s married to Priscilla, and like a daughter Rubita who is married to Enrique. An older sister Diana Meyer who has two sons Bobby & Billie that he loved dearly.

Viewing will be at Gilbert Memorial Park on Thursday, September 28th from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be at St Anne Roman Catholic Parish on Friday, September 29th with Rosary at 9:25am and Mass at 10:00am. An Honorable Naval Burial will take place at Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery following Mass on Friday, September 29th. with a reception to follow.

  • I love you dad, you are my absolute hero, it was an honor to care for you, thank you for entrusting me to in act of all your medical needs, care, and everything in between.
    We have so many stories that will forever live inside my heart. You taught me so much more about life & it was inspiring to watch the amount of kindness patience and gratitude you consistently gave to those who played a role during your journey & care for you. Your faith is so strong, we have a great insurance policy with God! It makes me smile and true peace knowing you’re no longer suffering or in miserable pain. You have steel in your blood… you are the strongest person I’ve ever met. You are the most selfless person I’ve ever met. You are my best friend & always will be. I’ll keep watching trouble with a curve our movie… I hope when the time comes for us to all gather for the services to honor & celebrate your life that you are pleased with how I put it together from your requests. We did it… the team got YOU into the most amazing place. I still will do anything for you; I got you the rifle salute just as promised. If I could take care of you again I would do it times a million. I really miss you dad! Love you forever & Harlow & Coconut.

  • You were my only sibling. I was your big sister. Will miss all our talks through the years about the Dodgers. We. did a united job taking care of Mom & Dad. You loved my boys and was very active with them as they were growing. up especially the years I was a widow. No more pain. Just the ones left behind missing you.
