Obituary

Timothy Scott Van Haren (Scotty), 63, passed away on December 29, 2021, at his home in Queen Creek Arizona.

Scotty was born on January 3, 1958, in San Manuel Arizona to Wilford and Lois Van Haren. He was the 4 th of 7 children.

Scotty loved the cowboy life. At a young age he started riding sheep, then moved on to steers and eventually moved on to riding bulls. He did this for many years on Turquoise Rodeo Circuit. He also loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, or camping, he loved it all and would never pass up a chance to go. Scotty worked for BBP Concrete in Phoenix for 20 years prior to starting his own pool cleaning business. He was a hard worker and passed that trait on to his family by example.

He is survived by his son Tyler (David)Van Haren; stepchildren Andrea (Jared) Rogers, Cody Holladay, Mindy (Aaron) Caldwell, 11grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, John (Linda) Van Haren, Vicki (Dusty) Wold, Tommy (Stacy) Van Haren, Todd Van Haren, Amy Taylor.

He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother and his brother Morty.

Scott was my neighbor to the side of me. I moved in last year with many troubles. The first day i met Scott he was jumping over my back fence into my yard once he saw me struggling with the horses and offered a hand. Anytime he saw me working in the back he would hop the fence and help without me even asking. I looked up to Scott and always felt safe having a neighbor like him. He was always cheerful and always wanted to stop to talk at the fence. I looked forward going to the back every day so i could talk to him for we both were alone. When i heard about his passing apart of me left as well. Looking at his house now brings me to tears. Its just not the same without him. The world lost a great man.

Scotty my good friend we all will miss you

For the past several years my wife Rebecca and I lived next to Scott. We helped each other out and would talk about upcoming hunts. He was always pleasant and had a smile on his face when he greeted you. Last saw him the day after Thanksgiving before we moved out of state. Handed him a bag of Elk meat which he stated he would definitely enjoy. One of the best neighbors we have ever had. Always looked out for our dogs and our property when we were away. He will be missed.
