It is with much sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steven Jon Melby 1965 ~ 2022. Steven entered eternal life on Monday May 2, 2022 at the age of 56. He battled prostate cancer for 10 years and fought long, hard and endured many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, as well as numerous surgeries. Steven was born in Tomah, WI, in 1965 to Taylor and Donna Melby. He graduated with honors and received his bachelor’s degree from National University. He excelled and enjoyed a very successful career in Engineering and the Semiconductor Industry, ending at his dream job at ASE Group.
Steven had a contagious passion for life and brought energy and light into every room he stepped foot in. He loved to travel and was blessed with being able to see much of the world over the years – from walking across the Great Wall of China, to hiking up the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia and through Machu Picchu in Peru. His magnetic sense of humor, lust for adventure and natural culinary talent, was adored by so many and will forever be missed. He was predeceased by his mother, Donna Melby, and he is now resting in peace and without pain by her side, in Heaven.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Kimberly and daughter Lauren, father Taylor Melby, sister Jaye (Dave) Finneman (nieces and nephews – Jeremy, Amanda, Lindsey), sister Julie Melby (nieces and nephews – Katie, Derek and Kiel), brother Dane Melby (nieces – Danielle and Kali), father-in-law and mother-in-law Stephen and Mary Ann Suhre, brother-in-law Steve (Joan) Suhre (niece – Elise), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 2-4pm at the Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E. Queen Creek Rd., Gilbert AZ 85297.
Farewell my friend. Rest In Peace with the Good Lord. You are in good hands now.
