Starlette (Star) Tucker was born on July 1, 1949 at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the union of Edward Tucker and Claudine (Rankin) Tucker. She was a healthy baby at 8 pounds and 13 ounces with enough charisma, gall, spiritually, humor and sarcasm to change our lives forever. After five years, her mother and two sisters relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she began her education. She attended St. John Lutheran School, Immanuel Lutheran School, Wells Jr. High School and Washington High School in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She also, attended Perry High School in Lima, Ohio. She continued her education at Milwaukee Area Technical College in teaching, counseling and acquiring a certification in childcare. Having grown up in a Christian home, she was taught by her mother, Claudine, of the love of Christ.
Through the years, she read her Bible and attended different churches. She grew up in Tabernacle Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and joined the Christian Youth Group with her sisters, Patricia and Carlotta. Starlette became a member of Sharon Seven Day Adventist Church and later a member of Parklawn Assembly of God in Christ Church. When joining Parklawn, her two daughters joined also. Starlette started working her teenage years and after high school, she began her lifetime career at Wisconsin Bell (AT&T) in 1970 where she had many roles and responsibilities, dispatcher and network assistant clerk. She completed 33 years of service and proudly retired at the age of 54. Star also worked 2 different part-time jobs, once cleaning, security, concession and ticket checker for the Milwaukee Bucks.
After retirement, she enjoyed reading her Bible, watching some of her favorite televisions programs. talking to her friends on the phone, traveling, and spending her time working on her beautiful yard. Her backyard was a place of peace, relaxation and fun for her and her family. She kept multiple cell phones for her busy schedule and was always on the move. She started her childcare business called “Little Stars Childcare”. It was a safe place for children to play, learn and create new friendships. She transformed her life and home for her business to cater to grandchildren and neighborhood children. This was a very rewarding accomplishment for her. She devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren.
