Sheila was an Arizona native for 65 years! She was born in Mesa and raised in Tempe. She attended Mt. Carmel elementary and McClintock High, where she met her husband of 41 years. She married Mark Rahorn 11/19/1983 and they raised two kids together, Jake Rahorn & Katie (Rahorn) Thomas. Sheila’s top priority was raising responsible and respectful kids. Sheila is preceded in death by her dad (Raymond McManis) and mom (Arlene McManis). She is survived by her beloved husband Mark Rahorn; adult children Jake Rahorn (Charmayne), Katie (Rahorn)Thomas (Justin), sister Ann Smith (Kevin), brother Raymond McManis; half siblings Lauraleigh Ripplinger and James McManis, and her deeply loved, grandson, Braxton Rahorn.

Sheila spent her life committed to her family and friends. Her family deeply benefited from her excellent job as a homemaker. She did spend several years working in the school cafeteria where her kids attended. She loved the students, and it allowed her to execute her natural tendencies of nurturing others and filling hungry bellies!
Sheila loved dogs, lottery scratch tickets/casino visits, and gardening! Her flower gardens were her true pride and joy! Sheila always mowed the lawn when her and Mark owned acreage and she took great joy in ensuring it looked perfect, just like a golf course. Sheila enjoyed camping and fishing and spent lots of time doing this with Mark and the kids.

She was a faithful wife, incredible mother, amazing Grammy, and the most nurturing friend. Sheila will be greatly missed by so many people.

Oh my how your heart must hurt McManis family. I did not know my cousins well, but SheIla and I shared information. She was my AZ info person. I will miss her funny sence of humor and sweet entries of her family. It was always evident how proud she was of them.

  • My dear long lost friend that found me after 50 years. February 24, 2024 I opened the message you left me on Facebook. We connected where we had left off. We were both so happy we reconnected. I am at a loss for words. I know you are a tremendous loss for Mark, Katie, Jake and Braxton among others. For me as well because I thought we had more time. Grateful for this last year and 4 months. The wooden token you gave me shall remain in my purse so I am continually reminded of you. I love you Sheila!!!
