Sebastian Bruce Badaglialacqua

Sebastian Bruce Badaglialacqua, lovingly known to all as “Dr. B”, passed away peacefully on February, 12th 2025 in Chandler, AZ. He was born on July, 16th 1953 in Detroit, MI to Anthony Edward and Antoinette (Vitale) Badaglialacqua.
Bruce was the oldest of 4 children, including John Victor (d.1993) and twin sisters, Theresa Juszak (Charles) and Marie Weier (Warren). Bruce attended St. David Prep in Detroit, graduated from De La Salle High School in 1971. Bruce received his undergraduate degree from Oakland University in 1975 and graduated medical school from Michigan State University in 1979 with his Doctorate.
While doing an internship in Pontiac, MI he met his RN wife of 44 years, Donna (Campbell) Badaglialacqua. Bruce practiced medicine in Lapeer, MI from 1980-1986 and then moved to Tempe, AZ to join Mesa General Hospital. In 1987 he established his family practice in Mesa, AZ until 1992, when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor which left him disabled. After resigning his practice, he became a respected adjunct medical professor at A.T. Still Medical School in Mesa until retiring in 2024. Bruce had many loves in life-chief among them were his wife Donna and children Patricia Wentz, Maria Marttila (d.1993), Matthew Marttila (d.2019) (Tracey), Sarah Baker (Steven), Katharine Alioto (Amanda) and Alex Badaglialacqua (Sara). The family later grew as the children were married and became parents. Bruce was grandfather to LeeAnn Rogers (Han), Jamie Marttila, Emma Walman (Chase), Margaret Baker, Lauren Baker, Sophie Badaglialacqua, Paige Badaglialacqua and Sebastian (Bash) Alioto; in addition to 5 great grandchildren.
His deep love of the Lord buoyed his spirit everyday as he loved his family, practiced and taught medicine, witnessed his faith to nursing home residents, attended Bible study and flew his beloved airplanes. Whatever he did, he did with the Lord beside him.
Funeral services will be held for Bruce at 11:00am on Monday, February 17th at Light of Christ Church located at 6289 S. Greenfield Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85298.
