Rocky Hong (Minh Han Hong), 71, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at Banner Gateway Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Hue; his beloved daughter, Le; and two cherished grandchildren, Jayden and Nalani.

A public Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297.

After retiring, Rocky found joy in dedicating his time to his grandchildren, faithfully driving them to and from school. He also poured his heart into tending his garden, a peaceful place where he found solace.

Family was everything to Rocky. He cared for them selflessly, always putting their needs above his own, even as he quietly endured the pain of his illness. Though we feel the profound ache of his absence, we are comforted by the knowledge that he is no longer suffering.

Rocky will forever be remembered as a loyal and strong man, a tireless worker, and a deeply loving husband, father, and grandfather. We are endlessly grateful for the time we had with him and will always carry his love in our hearts.

To my dad,

I love you more than words could ever express. A piece of my heart will always be missing without you. Your love was unconditional, and not a single day will pass that I won’t miss you. I don’t know how to navigate this life without you, but I promise to carry your love with me always.

I love you with all my heart, forever and always.

Your daughter,

Le

Condolences

  • I’ve known Rocky for years. He was my neighbor and a friend. He would always keep tabs on the kids and tell me what they were up to ????. Every Chinese New Year he would give us $2 bills and we looked forward to it. It was very special to us that he did this! I’m going to miss his visits and his stories. That man went through a lot and was a successful man because of it.

Rest Easy Uncle Rocky. May you find peace in Heaven.
