Narlyn was born in Laguna, Philippines and raised in a family with economic challenges and limited resources. Despite these hardships, she graduated from Colegio de Sta, Catalina De Sena High School in 1986. She continued her education at United Doctors Medical Center (UDMC), ultimately achieving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992, and began what would be a 30-year ICU nursing career at University of Perpetual Help Hospital in Laguna in 1994.
While still in High School, Narlyn met a neighbor’s friend, and her future sweetheart Ted Arayon, in 1984. Ten years later, while Narlyn was starting out her nursing career, she and Ted married. A year later they started their family with the birth of their first son Carlo. Calvin followed in 2001.
Narlyn was the first in her immediate family to achieve their mutual life-long dream to immigrate to the United States in 2003. Ted, Narlyn and their two boys moved to Queen Creek Arizona, where she continued her ICU career with Banner Health; first at Banner Mesa Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, and then Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona. In 2019 Narlyn took her passion for Intensive Care to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona often serving in the role of charge nurse, where she remained until her passing.
Narlyn’s faith was a vital component of her life. She found fellowship at Christ’s Family Life Church (CFLC) in 2017, quickly found a powerful connection with the closeknit group, and began volunteering in various leadership roles including: community outreach, women’s ministry, bible study leadership, and missionary support.
Narlyn’s heart was full of love, kindness, and generosity. She donated to several charities, provided financial support to friends and family, and enthusiastically contributed untold hours helping people in need. She loved hosting and attending parties with her close friends and family, often cooking Filipino dishes alongside her Nanay, singing karaoke duets with her sister Meilani, and generally participating in fun and games with the people she loved.
Narlyn is survived by:
- Her loving husband Eduardo “Ted” Arayon,
- Her eldest son Carlo Arayon,
- Her Nanay Linda Jamias,
- Her siblings Leonardo “Jun” Jamias, Meilani Jamias, and Patrick “Bok Noy” Jamias,
- As well as countless family and friends.
