It’s with a broken heart that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Michael Andrew Jones on December 3, 2024.

Mike was a loving husband to his wife Stephanie and a loving, doting father to his two boys Jack and Charlie. His greatest joy was being with his immediate family and his 5 brothers and sisters. To Mike, his wife and sons were everything. He treasured their daily trips to Alby’s with Steph and often said that everything that he did in his life was for his two boys. He took immense pride in attending their school and sports activities, and creating special memories through one-on-one trips with them.

Mike adored his nieces and nephews, who lovingly called him “Uncle Dude.” He was undeniably their favorite uncle.

Mike took great pleasure in designing and decorating his beautiful home, incorporating nostalgic pieces from his past. He also found joy in maintaining his meticulously landscaped yard. He was an entrepreneur though he disliked the term-he successfully owned and operating businesses in Phoenix.

In his early 20’s, Mike dedicated two years to serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Argentina Neuquen Mission. He often reminisced that they were some of the best two years of his life. He loved the people, culture and language. Mike often prepared Milanese for his family, tirelessly perfecting the recipe to capture the authentic flavors of Argentina. His bilingual fluency in English and Spanish allowed him to connect and build friendships with everyone he met.

Mike attended BYU and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Zoology.

Mike is survived by his wife, Stephanie, 2 sons, Jack and Charlie, Mother, Loretta Jones, 2 sisters, Julie (Brent) Brooks and Jennifer (Jared) Nesbit, and 3 brothers, John S. (Teri) Jones, Matthew (Isa) Jones, and Paul (Kaycee) Jones.

Funeral services will be held at Gilbert Memorial Park December 13, 2024 from 12p-lp, with a viewing just before from lla-12p.

That was supposed to be a prayer emoji

  • I’ve been fortunate enough to know Mike for fifteen years – he used to be my neighbor directly across the street from me. I’ve never known a man to be more kind, giving, and joyful than Mike. I am absolutely devastated to have heard this news and can truthfully say I will miss seeing him at Albertsons, Guitar Center, our kids schools, and just around the neighborhood.

  • He will always be a great “kid “ because it is hard to imagine him as an adult. I really enjoyed serving as his scout leader.

  • I was so saddened when I heard this news. I had relocated to Tempe from San Diego my sophomore year of high school. I joined the baseball team and immediately connected with Mike. His sense of humor was great ????! I cannot remember the ridiculous jokes and comments we made together but I will always remember is chuckle. We had lost connection after high school but I saw him again at our high school reunion and it felt like nothing had changed. I had only known Mike or as we called him Jonsie for a short period of my life but was so glad to have him as a friend.

  • Heartbroken when we heard and especially for Stephanie, Jack and Charlie, Loretta and the rest of the Jones clan. Our prayers have been sent for your family and will continue to pray. The Drew Crew Loves the Jones

So kind , so warm , fun and giving . I feel so lucky to have known mike and enjoy some happy times together . Him calling me “ Mimi “ or “ Cindy Lou “ made him all the more endearing . The jones are wonderful friends to my family and we will keep you in our hearts always . Mike loved life and shared his joy .. no doubt he is at peace in his heavenly reward . ❤️
