Obituary

Marcus Lee Jimison

Marcus Lee Jimison, age 38, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Gilbert, Arizona. Born on July 28, 1986, in Phoenix to Barbara Sweat and Rodney Jimison, Marcus lived his life with a passion for sports, family, cooking, and hard work.

A proud graduate of Central High School in 2004, and affectionately known as “Juice”, Marcus excelled both in and out of the classroom. As a dedicated member of the Bobcats football team, he proudly wore the number 75 jersey as a Center, an athlete who played with heart and determination. His love for sports extended beyond the football field—he was an avid participant in baseball, basketball, and wrestling, where he formed lasting friendships and learned valuable life lessons about teamwork and perseverance.

After high school, Marcus earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Collins College, an achievement that fueled his creative spirit and shaped his career. For ten years, he worked with pride at Swift Transportation, where his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every department he touched. Marcus was known for his reliability, dedication, and the care he put into every task, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Marcus was a devoted father and family man, whose pride and joy were his two boys. He is survived by his first son, Maxwell Lee Jimison, and his second son, Joseph “JoJo” Phanor Lee Jimison. His wife, Asiah, and his mother, Barbara, also survive him. Along with his brother, Steven Lee Jimison, and sisters, Tiffany and Auvea. Marcus is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Lee Jimison, his older brother Rodney Lee Jimison, Jr. and both sets of grandparents; Robert Lee and Ruthie Jimison, and Walter and Alice Allen.

In addition to his immediate family, Marcus will be deeply missed by his in-laws, Asiah’s parents and sisters, and a wide circle of friends who knew him as a kind, loyal, and hardworking man with a love for life and sports—especially his beloved Arizona Cardinals. In addition to being known for his witty and hilarious one liners, Marcus also knew his way around the kitchen. As the proud owner of “The Red Room Kitchen”, he spread joy to many with his delicious secret recipes. If you have tried Marcus’s infamous mac and cheese, you’ve had a taste of heaven.

Marcus’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His warm presence, infectious smile, and his ability to make others feel valued will never be forgotten. His family finds comfort in knowing that his love for them and his zest for life will continue to guide them in the years to come.

A celebration of Marcus’s life will be held for his immediate family and close friends. The service is by invitation only. Please send any flowers or cards for his loved ones, directly to the funeral home.

Rest in peace, Marcus. You will be forever loved, and missed, always.
