Marcia Lee Duffey (Brinkman) passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by her children. She was 78 years old.
Born on May 1, 1947, in Dearborn, Michigan, Marcia was the beloved daughter of the late William Frederick Brinkman II and Theresa (Lisuzzo) Brinkman.
She married the love of her life, Douglas R. Duffey, on January 30, 1982, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Together they raised two sons, instilling in them strong values of honesty, kindness, and respect.
Her greatest joy came from her family—especially her beloved grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. As a “Nana” she delighted in showering them with love – especially on birthdays and her favorite holiday, Christmas.
Marcia loved any opportunity to gather with family and friends, no matter the occasion. She never missed a chance to dance and shared many laughs on her annual girls’ trips or during the occasional casino outing with her sisters-in-law, trying her luck at the slot machines.
She was kind and gentle-hearted, always ready to welcome others with a warm smile and an open heart. Her couch was often filled with visitors enjoying conversations that could stretch on for hours.
Marcia spent 35 years working at GMAC, where she was admired for her unwavering dedication, reliability, and professionalism. Her commitment to her work and kindness toward others naturally led to many lasting friendships with her colleagues—bonds she continued to nurture and treasure throughout her life.
She lived life fully and approached each day with determination and faith. Raised in the Catholic Church, Marcia attended Mass regularly and, when unable to attend in person, watched faithfully on television. Her deep relationship with Jesus brought her peace and strength, and she faced the end of life without fear, confident that she would soon be by His side.
Marcia will be remembered for her warmth, generous spirit, and the joy she brought to every family gathering. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas Duffey Jr. (Ashley) and David Duffey (Gabrielle); and her grandchildren, Finnian and Mila.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas R. Duffey; her parents, William Frederick Brinkman II and Theresa (Lisuzzo) Brinkman; and her siblings, Patricia Stachecki, William Frederick Brinkman III, and Elizabeth Lewan.
