About Madeline Grosbayne
Madeline Grosbayne was born in Baltimore, Maryland, October 13, 1949, the younger child of the late Charles and Jenny Isaacson and brother to the late Michael Isaacson (2021). She passed away and went to the Lord April 14, 2026, having fought valiantly against the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease since 2021. She resided at American Orchards in Gilbert for the past 1½ years, where she was treated excellently by the A.O. staff and Hospice professionals later as well. Prior to this ordeal she and her husband, Dr. Frank Grosbayne had resided very happily in Yuma, AZ (1974-2022), where they raised their family and both successfully pursued professional careers as educators.
Madeline was indeed a warm and loving wife and is survived by her husband Frank of nearly 53 years and by her daughter Marjorie of Mesa (wife of Zack Geiser), son Brian of Gilbert (husband of Dulci Lucas), and four grandsons, Luke (age 17), Dillon (14), Preston (12), and Brolin (9).
Madeline never failed to consistently place the needs and wants of all immediate family members and close friends above her own. To know her was to revere and love her as fully attested to by her family, close friends, and a multitude of students through the years. Madeline successfully taught elementary school in the Crane School District for 28 years (1984-2012). There her principals used such words in her evaluations to describe her as exhibiting exuberant energy, fully dedicated to her students’ welfare and academic achievement, while unfailingly exhibiting overall excellence and numerous other positive attributes ascribed to a “professional educator and proven winner!”
Madeline married Frank, the love her life, in 1973 in Baltimore, where the couple had met as a blind date. They spent three years at the University of Minnesota where Madeline took courses while Frank completed his master’s degree. Madeline had earned her A.A. degree at Catonsville Community College in Maryland prior to 1970 and then went on to complete her B.S. in Education (K-6) in 1984 from NA-Yuma prior to earning her M.A. in Multi-Cultural Education from NA-Yuma in 1996, while raising two wonderful kids and working full time.
In addition to being an avid reader and movie goer, Madeline and her family truly enjoyed traveling and exploring the sites throughout all 50 states. Much of their annual travel adventures focused on the beauty, the music, and the cool summer temperatures of Aspen, Colorado, all of which Madeline dearly loved. She will always be remembered for her incredible smile, her joyous sense of humor, and her dedication and devotion to her family, friends, and students. Her loving kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity will surely be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
“A Celebration of Life” will be held in Madeline’s honor on June 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Gilbert Memorial Park in Gilbert. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to:
