Obituary

Leander Charles Zoccano, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Leander “Lee” was born on February 25, 1940 in New Haven, CT to Marie and Leander Zoccano. He graduated from East Haven High School class of 1958. Lee resided in Guilford, CT for many years before moving to Gilbert, AZ.

Leander is survived by his wife Margaret, his daughter Deborah Martins, a sister Lorraine Moriarty, a brother Bob Zoccano and two grandson’s Alex and Eric Martins.

Besides spending time with family, Lee had a passion for golf, antique cars and playing the organ. He was also a successful business man and entrepreneur.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 11AM at Gilbert Memorial Park 2100 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297.

Lee was a great man. I still remember going to his store in Branford with my parents and is playing hide and seek. I would get excited when we would have to go all the way to Guilford on a Sunday for dinner at your parents house. Because it was so far away. We had a lot of laughs. He will truly be missed. Lee was a GREAT guy. Intelligent, smart, with a sharp wit and a really good heart. He cared deeply for his family, I was lucky enough to have a business relationship with him that turned into a personal relationship too, and I am really fortunate to have experienced so many of his facets. He had a way of debating and keeping his sense of humor at the same time, and we both made full use of those skills. I will very much miss him, and if I had a wall of fame, he’d be on it.
