About Lawrence Leonard Litchfield

Lawrence Leonard Litchfield, 80, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025 at the Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, AZ, surrounded by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Mary and Melvin W. Litchfield.

Larry graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Civil Engineering. After graduation he worked for Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee Wisconsin, The State of Wisconsin, The City and County of San Francisco and finally served as Building Official for the City of Phoenix.

In his free time he enjoyed gardening, painting, and cheering on his four grandkids at all of their many activities. Larry was actively involved in the construction of the Bank One Ballpark in 2003, currently known as Chase Field. He was a season ticket holder for many years and one of the Diamondbacks original fans.

Larry is survived by his wife Mary of 57 years, his daughters Laura Jones (Jeff) and Lindsey Norris and four grandchildren: Alyssa, Makayla, Brianna, and Jaden. He is also survived by his sister Mary Millman of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and sister-in-law Cathryn Litchfield of St. Albans, VT and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 19th at 11:00 at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85297. An informal lunch reception will follow.
