Laurel Brady Tilley, 48, beloved wife of Jeffery Robertson Tilley and mother of Ryan, Elizabeth, Emmalyn and Brigham, passed away May 26, 2020 at her home in Gilbert, Arizona after fighting cancer for the past few years. Laurel was born to Lindsay Anderson Brady and Darlene Dorothy Bills Brady October 29, 1971 in Salt Lake City, UT, but has lived in Gilbert, Arizona since 1975. Laurel was sealed to her best friend Jeffery Robertson Tilley in the Bountiful, Utah temple on July 22, 1995. Laurel attended Gilbert Elementary, Junior High, High School and Ricks College. She loved serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during 1993-1995 in the Missouri Independence Mission with an additional call to the Liberty Jail. She continued her missionary spirit the rest of her life, sharing her testimony of the Plan of Happiness and her love of the Book of Mormon with all she could. Laurel spent her time sharing her many talents with others. She loves sewing, quilting, woodworking and crafting of all kinds. She loves photography, reading, gardening, cooking and baking. All projects usually ended up as a gift, as she gave most everything she made away to others. Laurel loved serving in the church in all the auxiliaries and scouting. She especially enjoyed serving with her husband Jeff in the Mesa Temple baptistry and as Bishop’s wife. Laurel has always had a positive attitude and has never been heard to complain or speak ill of anyone. She always loved a party and having fun no matter what was going on and she was everyone’s best friend. Her attitude and positive outlook are inspiring to all. Even during the hardest times she would say, “it’s merely an inconvenience” (a phrase she learned from her dad). She will be dearly missed by her husband and children, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Everyone was blessed to know Laurel, be loved by her and all will greatly miss her.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 2pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2740 S. Lindsay Rd, Gilbert, AZ. Place of burial Gilbert Memorial Park.
I loved Laurel. All the things you said above are absolutely true. She was a friend to all, she loved the church and her family, and she truly didn’t complain. She is one of the few people I’ve known in my life who you can say is “without guile.” She fits that phrase beautifully. What a remarkable life she lived and a beautiful legacy she left. She left the world a better place and I feel blessed to have crossed her path. Thank heavens for the gospel so that I know I will cross her path again. I am so truly sorry for your loss. Our family’s thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, the Merrill Family
She will be greatly missed. I loved her smile. We are praying for y’all. The Smith’s.
