Karren S. Maez

Karren S. Maez, 75, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Tempe, Arizona. Karren was born on March 29, 1950, in Hobbs, New Mexico. In March of 1971, she married the love of her life, Billie Maez Jr., in Farmington, New Mexico. Together, they made their home in Aztec, where they raised their children, Laurie Slusser and Billy Dane Maez. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Karren cherished her family above all else. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sybil and Dane Robinson, her brother in-law, Ron Cochran who were longtime residents of Aztec, New Mexico. Karren is survived by her husband of 54 years, Billie; her children, Laurie Slusser (Pat) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Billy Dane Maez (Jessica) of Dallas, Texas; five beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Cassidy, and Derek Slusser; Tyler and Lacy Maez; her sister Sandy Cochran of Aztec, New Mexico. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, at Gilbert Memorial Park in Gilbert, Arizona. Pallbearers include her grandsons Ryan and Derek Slusser, Tyler Maez, Ronnie Cochran and honorary pallbearer Kristi Cochran. Karren’s love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
