A Life Remembered
Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Jon Charles Anderson announces his passing on Monday, November 25,2019 at the age of 76. Jon was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother.
Jon was born in Binghamton, NY to Paul Robert Anderson and Edith Vivian Debes. He attended Watertown High School in Watertown, NY. Jon will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gudrun of 52 years. They raised two children Nikka (Garnsey) and Christian. His career was in many areas of the Construction industry. He and his wife even took a crazy leap of faith and decided to run a family restaurant in a small summer village on the beautiful St. Lawrence river, for about 5 years which introduced them to many wonderful people and friendships.
Throughout Jon’s life he had many passions / hobbies. He enjoyed painting, woodworking, photography and travel. He was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He would have no problem sleeping on the ground next to the campfire. He loved everything about nature, he could see the beauty in it all. He was intelligent and could do just about anything. Later in life he picked up Day Trading and excelled at it, he even had the foresight to pull his money out before the market crashed in 2008, which really made him happy! One of his greatest joys was building a family cabin with his own two hands and many amazing friends and family by his side. Jon was always smiling and if you knew him, you loved him. He was gentle, kind, loved to enjoy life and could tell wonderful (long) stories (which Gudrun always tried to speed up). He was an amazing father and just adored his Grandchildren.
Jon is survived by his wife Gudrun, his two children Christian (Lana) and Nikka (Sean), his brother Alan (Connie) and two sisters Judith “Jill” (Bill) and Christine (Neven) and grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in March in Arizona and July in New York.
