John David Doolin
October 17, 1973 – March 19, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John David Doolin, age 51, of
Gilbert, Arizona, on March 19, 2025.

John was born on October 17, 1973, in Ashland, Kentucky, to Patricia and Charles
Doolin. He graduated from Ashland Paul Blazer High School and attended The
University of Kentucky before moving to Arizona in 1995. In Arizona, John found his
calling as a mortgage broker, a career he continued with passion and dedication until his
passing.

John’s life was filled with love, laughter, and many passions. He was a dedicated husband
to his wife, Deadra, and a loving father to their children, Maddox and Capri. John was a
true sports fanatic, with a lifelong love for Kentucky basketball and the Phoenix Suns that
he shared with his son, Maddox. His love for music was boundless, and he particularly
cherished seeing live performances with Deadra, often supporting jam bands like
Widespread Panic. But most of all John loved watching Capri pursue her passion for
dance and traveling with his family creating memories that will forever live in the hearts
of those who knew him.

John was not only a loving family man but also a loyal and devoted friend. He built
lasting relationships with those around him, always ready to lend a hand or share in the
joys of life. John remained close to his buddies from childhood in Kentucky, his college
friends from Arizona State, and the many other friends he made throughout his life, never
letting distance or time diminish the bonds he held dear. His genuine care for his friends
was evident in the way he prioritized time spent with them, whether it was cheering on
his favorite sports teams, enjoying a concert, or just sharing a meal with them.
John is survived by his wife, Deadra; children, Maddox and Capri; parents, Patricia and
Charles; and his sister, Shannon Doolin Hofstetter. He is deeply missed by his family,
friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.”

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at
Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, Arizona 85297.

  • Shannon Dolce-Winch

My heart is broken hearing of JDs passing and my prayers are with his family. JD was one of my favorite “clients” when I worked with Fairway and we shared so many wonderful commonalities, namely sports and Kentucky and a twisted sense of humor. His loss is felt in ripples across space and time and leaves a void in those who knew him.

    Rest peacefully friend,

    Shannon
