Jerry Allen Jones

Jerry Allen Jones, 80, of Avondale, AZ, passed away on May 27,2023 after a brief illness and complication from emphysema. 

Jerry was born in Leavenworth, KS on October 14,1942 to Herman J Jones and Nina R Hogan. He attended Lawrence High School and then attended college and continued a life-long pursuit of education. 

In his career as a machinist, he worked for companies such as Boeing and Beechcraft. He finished his career at Ducommun in Phoenix, AZ after several years with the company. 

He was married to Brenda L Traul and had three children, James A Jones, 61; Janine M Jones, 58; and Jennifer L Jackson, 56.

Jerry was preceded in death by is mother and father, brother Herman Jones and sister Nina Cobb. He is survived by sisters Judy Tucker and Kate Reed, and brothers Richard Jones, Ed Reed and Donny Reed. He is also survived by his children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 E Queen Creek Rd in Gilbert, on July 1, 2023 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Lung Association.
