Jayson Robert Murset

Jayson Robert Murset, known by those who loved him as “Jay”, passed away on January 31, 2021 at the age of 16 in Phoenix, Arizona at Banner-University Medical Center from substantial injuries due to a serious car accident he was involved in a day earlier. Jayson was born on February 28, 2004 in Chandler, Arizona.

Jayson came from a big family. His parents, David William Murset and Emmalyn Budge Murset along with his siblings, Dayton, Bryson, Ambria, Savana, Weston, and Carisa reflect continuously on the kindness and tender heart that Jayson possessed.

Although Jayson’s life in mortality was brief, he touched the lives of many people in the 16 years that he was alive. Jayson was the kind of person who demonstrated true friendship to everyone he came in contact with. He was always willing to serve those around him and valued each relationship he was able to have while on this earth.

Jayson was a well-balanced person. He loved working out in his home gym and playing sports, especially basketball. Dirt biking, snowboarding, and water sports were other things that he enjoyed. He also knew how to play the piano and the guitar, was a master at cooking breakfast, and extremely involved in his church. He earned his Eagle Scout Award and had many opportunities to serve.

Even though Jayson endured everyday having Type 1 Diabetes, it never stopped him from doing the things that he loved to do. He fought every day to maintain his health by working out and eating healthy foods.

Jayson will be remembered for his strong faith, ability to serve in a way the Savior did, and his lasting kindness and value of friendship. May we continue to live and love in the way Jayson Murset did, esteeming our relationships as the highest priority.

The viewing for Jayson Murset will be open for the public on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 6-8PM. This will be at Gilbert Memorial Park located at 2100 E Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297. Social distancing and masks are required for those attending. The Funeral Service for Jayson will take place on February 12, 2021 at 10 AM. The Burial service for Jayson will take place at Gilbert Memorial Park.

The meaning of “Jayson” is “to heal”. As we continue to heal from this loss may we all continue to remember Jayson Murset and choose every day to Live Today Like Jay!
