07/22/1946 - 08/18/2023

Janice Paulk, beloved wife of Jack Paulk and revered mother to Michelle, Colette, Heather, and Amber, departed this life on August 18, 2023, in Gilbert, Arizona, after living with glioblastoma for nearly six years.  Her final moments were spent surrounded by many loved ones.

Affectionately referred to as Mother Nature by her former co-workers, Janice was known for her warm heart, quick wit, fresh cookies, and love of gardening.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, but most incredibly by her family, including her adoring grandchildren.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Olan Montgomery and Emma Montgomery-Michel.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack Paulk.  Her legacy will continue through her daughters Michelle (Jim) Hanrahan, Colette Brannon, Heather Paulk, and Amber Koehler, as well as grandchildren Courtney Cox, Stephanie Brundige, Sydney Hanrahan, Rylee Buscaglio, Bronte Pisz, Jaxson Buscaglio, Cameron Koehler, and Jacob Koehler, and great-grandchildren Addison Cox, Lincoln Cox, and Amara Watkins.  Janice is also survived by her sister, Alice (Eddie) Yarbrough of Searcy, Arkansas, dear cousins, four nephews, and one niece.

Janice’s family asks that she be remembered for the tremendous love & joy that she brought to the lives of so many rather than the sadness of her passing.  There will be a Celebration of Life at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

    Collette and family,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your sweet momma. My love and prayers to you all that you have peace strength and comfort in the days ahead

  • I thank each of you for your love and well wishes as she was the rock-solid foundation of our family. I will forever miss her smile and sparkle in her eyes when she would greet someone, no matter who they were. Her sweet, sass that brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She shared her love, passion, and talent of all things crafting, gardening, and homemaking to each generation that followed her. She raised smart, strong, and “sassy girls” who are each as unforgettable and tough as she was.

  • I graduated high school with Janice at Newark High and knew her mother and sister. I remember her as very pretty, kind and quiet natured. My prayers and condolences for her family.
