Submit a PhotoJames P. Simon (Jim) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin February 5th, 1946, and passed away December 30th, 2024, in Gilbert, Arizona. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed the trips taken with them.
Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years Kathleen (McCarthy) Simon; daughters Lisa Stuchell (Fred) and Laura Thornburg (Jay); and 5 grandchildren, Breanne Joyce, Elise Joyce, Courtney Joyce, Ben Thornburg, and Kyle Thornburg.
He graduated from St. Lawrence Seminary High School in Mt. Calvary Wisconsin in 1964 and later graduated from the University of Phoenix.
Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Eucharist Minister. He and his wife were involved in Marriage Encounter in Colorado.
He loved to read (especially William Johnstone) and was a good cook! Jim spent most of his working life in the printing industry in Milwaukee, Denver and Phoenix.
He enjoyed traveling, even short trips in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona, and especially loved Canada and Ireland.
He fought hard with health issues the last few years but was ready to meet the Lord.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Queen Creek, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
