About James M. Mitchell

James M Mitchell passed away Friday February 3, 2023 in Queen Creek, Az. at the age of 75yrs. Born April 15, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio and is preceded by his wife Evangeline, his two daughters Matia Hile and Anastasia Ruth, his son in law Erik Hile, his granddaughter Evangeline Hile, and niece and nephew Christine Owen and Michael Roe. James passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones. James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather as well as regarded and respected by his family, friends, and community. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford Ohio with a masters degree in Education. He was a successful entrepreneur as well as a minor league and triple A umpire. James was a World Series of Poker winner in 2006 securing a gold bracelet and bragging rights for years to come. Services will be held on Thursday February 16th at St Katherine Greek Orthodox Church at 10am with a reception following at 12pm at Gilbert Memorial Park. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. Please join us in honoring the life and memories of James.
