Jacob (Jake) Henry Egbert was born October 30, 1942, to William Hull and Beatrice Ella (Fryer) Egbert in Toledo, Ohio. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023, surrounded by family in Gilbert, Arizona at the age of 81. He grew up in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1959. He played football and basketball and excelled at both. He joined the Air Force after graduating and attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering. He asked a friend in the Air Force where he could meet a nice girl. Jake was introduced later to Nancy Wollschleger while he was stationed in Wichita, Kansas serving in the Air Force. He was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in November 1963 and they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 26, 1963. They would have celebrated 60 loving years of marriage this December. After graduating, he worked for Univac in Minnesota and later with Hewlett Packard in San Jose and Santa Rosa, California. Jake will be remembered as a devoted Husband, Dad and Grandpa. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He enjoyed teaching them how to ride a bike, golf, fish, ski and supporting them in any sports and activities they participated in. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, watching sports and playing golf.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristen, and son, Kevin, and siblings Beatrice (Betty) Miller, William (Bill) Egbert, Freda Lowe and Anna Durst. Jake is survived by his wife, Nancy and by his children Kim (Mark) Ludwig, Kelley (Ross) Holliday and Kyle (Courtney) Egbert; along with his eight grandchildren, Olivia, Spencer, Henry, Kate, Presley, Everly, Jacob and Tinsley; and sister, Frances (Fran) Goodeman. Funeral Services will be held at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1150 West Elliot, Gilbert, Arizona 85233. Viewing will be available at 10 am to 10:45 am with Funeral Services following at 11 am Monday, December 18th. Internment will follow at Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery located at 2100 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, Arizona 85297.
