Holegario Sandoval Martinez , 92, of Mesa Arizona, departed us on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Peacefully with his beloved wife by his side.

We take comfort in thinking he was greeted by his sister, Elva, and his best friend, Dario, both of whom passed recently. At last, he is reunited with his loved ones, including his son, Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Gilbert Memorial Park, 2100 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297, with visitation beginning one hour before the service at 10:00 a.m., after the services we will have time for refreshments and reflection.

Holegario was born October 6, 1932, the son of Pablo Martinez and Trinidad Sandoval Martinez. Holegario was born and raised in Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico. He had fond memories of his childhood.

Holegario proudly immigrated to the U.S., at the age of seventeen. Where he became a U.S. citizen in California. Later moving his family to Arizona in 1994.

Holegario was a cherished husband, loving father, grandpa, uncle (“tio”), and a great friend. He was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, a commitment he demonstrated by working seven days a week for many years. He proudly dedicated 40 years to the Pioneer Gift Wrap Company in the City of Commerce, California, before retiring, a testament to his exceptional loyalty and work ethic.

Holegario leaves behind, his wife Carmen Martinez, and his daughters Laura, Abigail, Lorena, Diane, and Judy. He will always live in our hearts.

To his girls, their father was defined by the memories they shared: getting food from a lonchero truck at his work, or piling into the van with the dog for ice cream and Jim’s burgers. Their fondest moments were created by a man who was always there, no matter how exhausted he was.

Holegario had a deep love for music, dancing, burgers, gardening and most of all spending time with his family. He was a remarkable man whose laughter and sharp wit will be dearly missed.

We are grateful for the beautiful 93 years we shared with him. He was a blessing in our lives, and we will always love him.
