Hang Minh Vo, 84, of Gilbert, AZ, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. He is survived by his spouse, Duc, and two children, Huong (David- son in-law), Loc (Huong -daughter in-law and three grand kids Lily, Sophie, and Kayden), brother and sisters.

Hang was born in Ben Tre, Vietnam, on March 20, 1940. He served honorably in the Vietnamese Airborne Military, achieving the rank of Captain. After serving three years in a Vietnamese military prison, Hang orchestrated an extensive and complicated escape plan for his family. They fled to Hong Kong, and after a year there, they migrated to the United States in March1979, settling in Rockford, Illinois. Despite the heart-wrenching difficulty of leaving behind his beloved parents and friends, Hang knew staying in Vietnam was not an option.

Hang was known for his incredible work ethic. He endured countless hardships without complaint, always striving to provide the best for his family. He worked for Dean Foods for 22 years, missing only one day of work. After retirement, Hang enjoyed spending time with friends, playing chess, reading, and indulging in his love of food, especially sweets.

Hang was a true testament to the qualities of a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He was generous, selfless, kind, thoughtful, empathetic, compassionate, and humble. He treated everyone with respect and gave not only material needs but also his heart. He was actively involved in temple fundraising and made numerous donations. These are among the many qualities admired about him.
