George Stasiuk Jr, also known affectionately as “Pigeon” to his family and “Stass” to his online friends, passed away on December 31, 2023, in Gilbert, Arizona, at the age of 45. He was born on September 23, 1978, in Kew Gardens, New York and lived most of his life there, moving to Arizona in 2017. George was preceded in death by his loving mother, Barbara.

George will be deeply missed by his father, George, and his siblings, Christine, Katherine, Theresa, and William, as well as his niece and nephews. His love for his family was unwavering and brought him great joy throughout his life.

In his free time, George enjoyed various activities that brought him immense pleasure. He was an avid player of Star Trek Fleet Command, the Admiral- leader and mentor to all his teammates in his alliance. He was an incredibly skilled bowler, achieving the rare 855 series was one of his great accomplishments. He had a passion for decorating during Christmas and Halloween. He would light up the neighborhood with his holiday displays to the delight of all the children passing by and was the first person to volunteer to play Santa at Christmas gatherings. George had a compassionate heart for animals and took great pride in caring for them, especially his favorite cat, Mert. He was a mentor in his NA community, always the one to be there for others, or just to lend a hand or ear. He had an eye for fashion and delighted in his extensive clothing collection. George was gifted and artistic, having a passionate writing/drawing collection and expressive tattoos. He also thoroughly enjoyed reading. He was a true people person, known to his family and friends as charismatic, funny, generous, and creative.

George’s warm presence, infectious laughter, and kind heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Condolences

  • He was a very special friend to me growing up. May you rest in peace old friend. Hold a spot on the courts for me.

  • Can’t believe your gone kid. All those hours of playing hockey, video games, shooting basketballs in the yard. The morning drives to school with your mother. You calling my mom “ mama Joe”.
I hope you found peace and mom was waiting for you with open arms since you was the baby
I am upset your gone, that day you moved out of Queens I thought I might see you again on a visit , now it will be when we meet again in the afterlife
